Summer's End with Magic Friends

Wonder when they'll send them home....
probably 24-48 hours, depending on how Bun is doing and what the insurance says they can do.

I didn't sleep at all that first night. I got up and went down to the nursery and just held and rocked my daughter.

I slept, but they brought Joel in about 2ish, said he was fussing. I picked him up and he calmed right down. :D Our hospital is small, so at first Joel was the only baby in the nursery. Our doctor said all the student nurses were hovering around him while he examined him.
Abby and the hospital I prefer not to dwell on, because I got the nurses-that-really-hate-their-job when I was post-partum. Bad combo. :dazzle:

I never had an epidural,so I eally don't know, but I've heard that you don't feel anything that way.

I had one with Joel - it was pretty cool, you could feel your belly tightening, but no pain. My sister and DH kept checking the monitor, cheering how intense the contractions were getting (yeah all right it's 10! :lookaroun) - and I'm like 'Okay'
But they stopped the drip just as I got ready to push, so I could know what I was pushing against - that was their reasoning. (Sorry Steph  ). Must have worked - took me only 12-13 minutes. My OB's office was just across the street and they were afraid he wouldn't make it.

I had no drugs whatsoever with DD, but an emergency C-section with DS. I would not wish a section on anyone. The experience was totally different, and the recovery was miserable.

Look at how loooong and lean she is! A dancer's body!
She'll be beating them off with a stick someday. (Or Dad will!)

Makes me think of a stand-up bit by Bill Engvall:

Boy, look at me. See that little girl, there? She's my life....so if you have any ideas about kissing...or touching....you remember these words:

I got no problem going back to prison.

Dads and their little girls. . .
There's nothing quite like that connection.
