Summer Saturdays = Lowest Wait Times Of The Year

It's July and a Saturday, so you would think Disneyland would be packed, right? Wrong. While we did get a heat wave this weekend, and the temp in Anaheim is currently 89 degrees, that climate is nothing compared to Orlando or Tokyo or Hong Kong in the summer and the Anaheim parks are absolutely dead today. You can thank a Triple Annual Passholder Blockout for that.

Here are wait times in early evening, after folks have started coming back from their hotel pool. Wait times were even lower when I was running errands this afternoon and looked at the App, but this is what the waits are like at 6:00pm on Saturday...

Splash Mountain & Grizzly River Run - 45 Minutes (It's hot!)
Guardians of the Galaxy - 40 Minutes
Radiator Springs Racers & Midway Mania - 30 Minutes
Star Tours & Indiana Jones - 25 Minutes
Submarines & Soarin' - 20 Minutes
Peter Pan's Flight - 20 Minutes
Pirates & Jungle Cruise - 15 Minutes
Big Thunder Mountain - 10 Minutes
Haunted Mansion - 5 Minutes
Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters - 5 Minutes
Autopia - 5 Minutes

Pretty much the rest of both parks is listed as a 5 Minute wait, from Goofy's Sky School to Monsters Inc. to Little Mermaid to Mr. Toad to StorybookLand Canal Boats to Winnie The Pooh to, well, everything else.

Those who aim their Disneyland visits for the most Annual Passholder blockouts available are very smart people. A Saturday in July has some of the lowest wait times of the entire year, not seen since the weekdays with heavy rains of this past January.

Noted.

I know it's not a weekend, but how are Monday/Tuesdays in early November historically? Any one know? I would think that would be a good time.

It's okay. If you go after Veterans Day they pick up more due to Christmas having begun. But really, @TP2000's advice holds true year round. Look for the dates with the most AP blackouts, and go then.

As an Arizonan I will gladly take 95 degrees. Hopefully the low crowds continue when I get a chance to go back in a few weeks

Lol wow how hot it is it over there? Personally I would rather go to the park on a moderately crowded day with good weather than a lesser crowded day at 95 degrees. Weather trumps all for me. Trying to seek Haven in rides/ shows with good AC doesn't sound like fun.

The hot days are brutal, no doubt. The WDW people will tell you it's worse there, but it doesn't make it any better. DL also doesn't have as much indoor stuff. Where's the Hall of the Presidents and Carousel of Progress to keep doing over and over again to cool off? Peoplemover? We don't even have a train right now.

It's been between 110~118 the past few weeks. It's 11 at night here and we're finally down to 95

Girl, that's a great Freudian slip for trying to keep cool on a hot day.

The Enchanted Tiki Grill might not be so bad...

"I'll take a portion of Pierre and an extra Fritz leg please to go with my Dole Whip Float."

Lol. I'm going with Jose. I like my fowl with a little kick.

Would you like original or extra crispy?

At least it wouldn't be choice between Original recipe or Under New Management... of course, anyway you slice it... it would just be just plain fowl.

Punny stuff in this thread. All you local DLR types have fun this weekend at D23 and with F!. I got to see some art and photos of some of the stuff that will be shown at the Expo and those going will be in for a treat. I'll be at WDW thanks to a work trip to ATL that ended up being only $10 more to fly through MCO on the way back. I might as well put that pass to use. Have fun in Anaheim and stay safe.

Oh, God. Fantasmic starts this weekend? I'm going to miss the quiet evenings in New Orleans Square.

Soft open for F! is the plan. It will depend how the rest of the week goes; but, so far - so good.

We expect a full vlog on it from you on the impact to the Mansion (it should be good for multiple re-rides).

If you don't mind a favor, can you swing through the Hub around Remember time after F! is back up and see how they are doing crowd control? I'm curious if they will attempt to revert to using the northern part of the Hub as the viewing all the way to the rope since Big Thunder Trail is open again.
