The 'What would Walt do if no one was around?' thread. Betty just bumped it...it was from 2005.
I'd never read it before, because I didn't come around here till summer/fall last year, so I've been giggling...need to show DH later. *keeps snickering*
It got out of hand in places, but that was really a fun thread!

Ah yes - pre-teen anghst!

Oh, we had another blowup recently...more of THE MOUTH. When we called her on it, she actually went and got a suitcase, and filled it with clothes and was crying hysterically - you'd think we'd been flogging the girl. :brick: :brick: I told Mike I needed fresh air and would call him, then left to Walmart, where incidentally, bought the child some of her school supplies. By the time I got back I got a very nice letter of apology. I think me leaving the house made an impression...she was afraid I wasn't coming back! :animwink:

DD and I had a lot of those Jenn - we're both Tauruses too, which doesn't help, and as Dave says, she is definitely MY daughter! You still have a few more years of that, but rest assured, it does get better!

Back!

So...I skipped the Disney Store today. On account of stumbling across an Adam Sandler movie being filmed outside my office. Didn't see him but snapped a couple pics:

Not sure if you can tell, but they had a crane w/ a huge lighting screen hovered over 1/2 of Park Ave.

I'm an Aries, and my mom is a Cancer. Yep; fire and water.

I remember being sixteen and having a huge fight just before Christmas, and it seemed so crucial at the time that I leave. It had something to do with how stifled and misunderstood I felt, but mainly about how I was not going to pretend to be the person she wanted me to be. I just remember that I was so angry I was afraid I'd hurt someone. I had to go for a walk, and I seriously considered the logistics of running away. Two big cons: it was winter and being homeless was not very appealing, and my enormous family would find out and side with my mom.

When I came back, I was grounded, but that didn't mean much: I never went out with friends or had spending money, so most nights I sat in front of the TV with her.
(Now, if she took away my cat or my music lessons, then it would have made an impact.)

My daughter used to insist that she must have been adopted or at least switched at birth.
