Suggestions please?

Just found out that we have another child on the way. :sohappy:
So, instead of the big Hawaiian vacation next year to celebrate our anniversary, we've opted for a WDW vacation with the first born before the arrival of the addition. Sort of a last "you're the only thing in our lives" trip for him.

I've been given the choice of the last week in February or the third week in March.

Any suggestions as to which may be less crowded? Any big going-ons happening?

We're DVC members with AKV as our home resort but have been thinking of trying another resort.... suggestions?

my vote would be march because of the weather. In Feb, we can have decent days in the 70s but drop into the low 40s at night. It's also more windy in FL so that adds to the windchill. Swimming is out, too.

Swimming is only out if you're a local! Coming from Canada, February is fine for swimming! :king:

First; Congratulations on your news!
Second; if affordable stay at the Polynesian and/or go to the Spirit of Aloha Luau, it will seem like being in Hawaii, trust me I spent 2 years stationed at Schofield Barracks.
Finally IMHO in February the schools in the northeast let out for winter vacation, after 8 weeks of winter families head for someplace warm, like Orlando. In March it may be less crowded.

Easter is in late april this year, so a lot of school systems are having spring breaks the last week of march. If you go before then, you should be ok. February still has crazy weather, look at last year.:brick:

Congratulations on your news! That is wonderful...

You have good and bad on both.

In February, you will miss the spring break people so crowds will be lower, minus however if it is Presidents day. Then again it is a little colder than March, but coming from up north it will be wonderful for you guys.

But in March, you are dealing with the crowds-Easter however is in late April in 2011 so that is one good thing to consider. However it is warmer.

Another factor you may want to consider is how far along will your wife be? I was there at about 3 months along, its wonderful and would do it again but it is always something to consider, flying etc.

But either way congrats and enjoy!

I think you could encounter school breaks at either time. Having grown up in the northeast, we always had a weeklong winter break in February (spring break week wasn't until April). Living in now, there is no winter break, but they do their spring break in March. So, you could get hit with families w/kids off from school at either time. So, since once cancels the other out- I'd probably go with March since weather is usually a bit better. Congrats on the new addition!

february is a little cooler (can be hot/cold from day to day) but disney changes over to regular season (and the beginning of college spring breaks) by valentines day. by the end of march you're full force in spring breaks, crowds, and much warmer temps.

Just an FYI. . .March 14th-18th is spring break for a lot of School Boards in Ontario, Canada. And after a long winter (which it always is) we all wanna go somewhere warm. :)
