Suggestions For Summertime Trip

Any suggestions on how to handle a summertime weeklong trip to DLR. I presume that I should avoid Disneyland on Saturday and Sunday and limit those visits to weekdays. My understanding is that DCA isn't crowded enough on weekends for that to matter much.

Any other advice? We are planning a summertime trip for 2009 though it looks like none of the DCA upgrades/changes will be completed by then (other than Midway Mania). I expect we will also do Universal Studios, maybe a day at the Beach, Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood, Getty Museum, etc.

Yes, avoid weekends. The parks are always super crowded then. My advice on summer crowds- Get there at opening. The parks are always empty for the first 2-3 hours. And also use your fastpass wisely. Go on rides the first few hours of opening and also get some fastpasses. Then you can come back later in the evening and use those fastpasses. Even though it's not popular, DCA's lines can get long. The park might not seem crowded, but the big rides will have long lines.

A day at the beach and Hollywood will be fun! Maybe you can look into a trip to San Diego to see the Zoo/Wild Animal Park and Sea World?
