Hi everyone!

I've just realized that I haven't been to any in resort restaurants for quite some time. Since I'll be at WDW in the fall and am now doing the dining plan, I figure now is as good a time as any. Any suggestions for where to go with a somewhat picky eater (8yo boy) would be VERY helpful. Thanks!

To try to help, in what way is he picky? That can help give suggestions. Also what areas would you like to stick to, or just any resort?

Details are always helpful, aren't they? Sorry about that. He's picky in that he's a pizza, pasta, chicken, mac and cheese (stereotypical kid stuff) type of boy. Any resort would be fine, really. That's our Epcot day, so we'll be done in the parks relatively early.

Oh that's not that picky then. Some kids only eat a couple things. How do you plan on getting back to your room?

Near by Epcot as already suggested was Beaches & Cream, but honestly I'd skip that and go for Captain's Grille and then ice cream at Ample Hills (muuuuuch better than B&C ice cream). The Fountain at Dolphin is quite good too for a similar experience to B&C.

We love Olivia's at OKW - easy bus ride over. Kona Café at Polynesian is great. We love Grand Floridian Café too. Whispering Canyon is a lot of fun for kids usually.

I would also suggest looking at some places at Disney Springs if you want a lot of selection.

If given the opportunity, I'd love to check out either the Poly or Grand Floridian. I haven't been to GF in about 10 years and have never been to the Poly. Disney Springs didn't even cross my mind. Thanks!

Kona Café at Poly is our favorite! The food is great, but I'm sure the kids menu has options the child. Ohana, if you can get a reservation, is a very FUN place to eat as well! He may be so absorbed in the fun and games that he won't care about the food. ;)

I would go with either one then. Truthfully the pathway between Polynesian and GF isn't long and we often walk from one to the other when staying in one or the other :) It's a pleasant walk to take and you can see both places.

Cape May or Ohana breakfast.

Captain's Grille or Beaches and Cream near Epcot.

Hoop de Doo? Well worth it, all you can eat and drink, but brought to your table, plus the show.

I also like the Turf Club (SSR). But that is out of the way though unles you are staying there, or at Disney Springs to get there easily.

Kona Café or Ohana at the Polynesian.

If you have reservations, you can park at the Polyesian then take the monorail to Magic Kingdom after dinner.

well most kids menus at any resort will have a few of his standard kids favorites if not all of them .
We personally really enjoy Ohana and its always a must do each year. I don't know if they say this in the menu online but they bring out mac and cheese if you have kids at your table in case they don't want any or much of the standard ohana offerings. At least they always have for us, although we have 8 kids so they may just figure that one of them in the group will be picky....they are not ,however .but the mac and cheese is still good and they eat it along with the shrimp etc. I also have heard that if you have a picky kid and let them know when you get there they will give them other food like chicken nuggets. Not sure if they give the kids a choice or just have one standard picky kid plate they make. They also bring out brownie cupcake things for the kids for dessert in case they are not fans of the bread pudding.

We like Boma for a resort choice that is a buffet with some not so common standard buffet items. But since you will be at Epcot, getting there won't be super convenient or anything. Seems like a MK area resort would be a better choice. Boma is great on an AK park day.

I finally get to try Whispering Canyon this September. I have wanted to go there for years but it always ends up getting cut out of our yearly list for one reason or another but this year I was insistent it was going to happen. I always hear good things about them and the foods they serve (the skillet) are some of my favorite type items.
