Suggestions for Dining

If I wrote an answer to this question everyday for 10 days, I think I would have 10 different recommendations. So many choices... it looks like you are keeping your options inside the parks, so I will keep my thoughts there as well.

I would keep with the Biergarten. It is one of our favorite places... especially if you and your husband are interested in a beer. The atmosphere is great as they have a band play for about 20 minutes every hour or so. On the buffett they have some simple items... rotisserie chicken, pork or chicken schnitzel (basically thin cut pork/chicken breaded and pan fried), meat balls, mac and cheese, soup (usually potato if I am not mistaken), several types of bread rolls, and a bunch of desserts.

A couple other comments or places to consider:

- A place for a simple yet good meal that I don’t hear about on the forums is The Plaza Restaurant in MK. Nothing spectacular, but they have good sandwiches and other simple offerings. I remember I got the Stack sandwich a time or two... They also have a grilled chicken sandwich or burger which I’m sure you can subtract some toppings if needed.

- You mentioned Pizza. Via Napoli in Epcot has great pizza. It is “authentic Italian” so it is a bit different than a US chain pizza. I didn’t see how big your family is, but if you have 4-5 people you could easily get their largest pizza and share it. With a couple toppings you will be at about $40-50 for the whole family. It is a lot of pizza...

- I saw the Coral Reef being discussed. I agree they have a good steak, but other than the steak, it is all seafood. Good restaurant, but just something to consider if your group doesn’t like fish.

- 50’s prime time would be a good option at Studios. They have classic “American” food that I think the majority of people would find something they would like.

Thank you, I will add it to my list of places for us to consider. And we are a family of 5

Hello! My family and I are fast approaching our time for making Dining Reservations. We have been to Disney the last 6 years and have eaten at the same places every time. This year I wanted to try at least 1 or 2 new places, but we are all very picky eaters. I was hoping I could get some suggestions. Right now we have the following places picked but I need 2 more.

We have chosen the following
Biergarten - Lunch/Dinner - This would be a new one for us
Hollywood n Vine - Dinner - Eaten here before
Be Our Guest - Dinner - Eaten here before
Tusker House - Breakfast - Eaten here before
Teppon Edu - Dinner - Eaten here before
Akershus - Breakfast - Eaten here before

Thank you

There are soooo many places I could think of right off the top of my head. even for Picky eaters. But again, it depends on if you are willing to eat at resorts or Springs rather than just parks. Outside of HBD I never eat inside Studios. Not when I can walk down the pathway and have Flying Fish, Beaches and Cream etc. MK is just as average for food in my opinion except for Skipper Canteen which can even be hit or miss. But just off the monorail is Cali Grille, Ohana, Kona Cafe, Narcoosees. Epcot is pretty much the one place Ill easily find something different. Via Napoli if someone likes Pizza, the hidden gem wine cellar in Italy, La Hacienda, Rose and Crown ( which also can be hit or miss), Spice Road. Or then getting to the outer resorts, AKL has two of the best Sanaa and Boma. The at Springs the new Pizza place is good, burger place is great, Homecoming, Splitsville, Raglan Road. I think it depends on what you are willing to do as far as food and how important it is to your trip.

We have tried Kona but only for breakfast. The hubby prefers to stay in the parks. We had considered Hoop de Doo.

Hoop dee doo is a lot of fun and I think better than the Luau. Its corny but the food is good and its a lively show. Staying in the parks isnt a bad thing. I do think it limits options of better food, but, even with that said:
MK: Skipper Canteen has been pretty consistent since it opened but the menu is a bit daring for picky people. My own opinion is eating in the castle has improved a lot in the past 2 years or so.
DS: Obviously I am partial to HBD, but, Sci Fi has been better the past time or two Ive been. 50s prime time is so hit or miss not just ont hefood but the service.
AK: With Tiffins opening and flame tree available, I dont have a hard time finding good food at AK.
Epcot: I could make a list: Via Napoli, La Hacienda, Monsieur Paul, The Wine Cellar in Italy, Biergarten, Akershus, Spice Road. Personally I think Le Cellier and Rose and Crown have dropped off in quality a great deal. Ill still go to R&C for drinks and bar food, but, Le Cellier for the price really has gone down and there are better options. I would even go to the Land and eat at Garden Grille which has consistently gotten better than Le Cellier.
