Suggestion For Which Week In January

Hi everyone! I think that my question could possibly fit in the general discussion forum, but it is related to my honeymoon, so I'm putting it here, hope that's ok.

We are getting married December 20th 2008 in NY and will be honeymooning in Disney. Since we don't want to be away for Christmas or New Years, we are planning on going sometime in January. My question is, does anyone have a suggestion regarding which week we should go? Is any one week in January that may be better for one reason or another? Also, do Christmas decorations come down immediatley after Christmas?

Thanks in advance for your help!

If you go the first week of January you will still have luck with some of the Christmas decorations being up. The Osbourne Spectacle of Lights at Hollywood Studios went this past year until January 6th, so did Animal Kingdom's Jingle Jungle Parade.

Mickeys Very Merry Xmas Party was over Dec. 21st, and Epcot's Candlelight Processional was over December 30th.

Since some of the events are still going on the first week of January, I'm sure decorations will still be up. Crowds throughout the entire month of January should be about equal. The first week might be a little more crowded because it's following New Years, but from my experience, January is a very good time in general to visit WDW.

January is my favorite time to visit WDW!!!

I try to go the third week to avoid the crowds from the marathon. MLK weekend is a little busy, but not much, and it still beats the crowd from the marathon.

There are little to no lines, the weather is usually fairly warm (70's) BUT it can get a bit chilly.

We are going back in January the 16th - 25th and I can't wait. I have visited in January, February, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December, and January is BY FAR my favorite time :)

Good luck and HAVE FUN!!! And make sure you get the honeymoon buttons!!!

My trip was Jan 7th-14th of this year. They still had some decorations up, including the trees. I would reccommend going around the 5th as to avoid the crowds, but still manage to see Disny decked on in Christmas decor and see the castle still lit.
