Sugar free dining

Good afternoon, everyone! I took a short hiatus from the boards, but I'm back and I'm heading down to the World on Wednesday! This time we're doing all quick service dining since we're on a budget, but I also have some dining restrictions I've never adhered to while there. I am not able to eat sugar and I've been searching for desserts. These are the ones I've found so far on the interwebs:

Backlot Express
Strawberry Parfait - no sugar added

Kringla Bakeri og Café, Norway
Chocolate Mousse – no sugar added

Restaurantosarus
Chocolate Brownie – no sugar added

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café
Mango gelato – no sugar added

Electric Umbrella
Chocolate brownie – no sugar added

Be Our Guest
Lemon-raspberry cream puff – no sugar added

Does anyone know if these are still current or if there are others that I haven't found yet? I'm so excited to go, but I still want to enjoy the foodie side of Disney!

As someone with the opposite problem (I'm allergic to artificial sweeteners!) I'm always paying attention to what things I can't eat and I can tell you there are always "no sugar added" items at all quick service locations. Also, you might not know that the "Minute Maid Lemonade" is the Light version EVERYWHERE and it is artificially sweetened so that would be an option for you too. Plus, they have unsweetened Peak Ice Tea at several QS places (Cosmic Rays immediately comes to mind) and they do have artificial sweetener packets available.

it can be a little harder at the quick serve venues but if you're uncertain let cm's know your limitations and they can often make suggestions or at least call someone over who can help you. they do it all the time for things like allergies.

It does seem like options at the quick service restaurants are harder to find, but hopefully I'll make it work! @MissM I hope I find as many things as you think I will! :p

Always tell your servers - they are so accommodating when possible. When I went to WDW pregnant, there were foods I couldn't have due to pregnancy (soft cheeses, for example). I told the servers, and a few times the chef came out to find out what I specifically couldn't have, and they worked around it. I thought that was great customer service.

I've never really paid attention to no sugar added since I'm a sugar addict myself, but I did want to pop on and tell you that DH had the lemon-raspberry cream puff at BOG guest and said it was amazing!!

"No sugar added" is not the same thing as "no sugar." I'm not sure why you can't have sugar, but would suggest you consult a dietician before leaving home. :)

I believe that most of the ice cream carts should have a sugar free fruit bar/popsicle thing. And some of the gluten free options are allergen free options, or sugar free. Check first though as they don't all carry the same things and it may change. As always, noting it on your reservation in advance is helpful, as is speaking with the chef. Yes, I know :) I can't have sugar because of a systemic yeast allergy that is currently giving me problems. Sugar feeds yeast, etc.

Start eating lots of yogurt...serious, the flora in yogurt kills the yeast flora, and yes limit your sugar intake really you should go on an ADA diet, limit your carbs not just refined sugars but all carbs and eat a ton of yogurt, eat it morning, noon and night .

I'm not sure what an ADA diet is. I avoid yogurt because of the high sugar content, but I do take probiotics. I also take Grapefruit Seed Extract, Caprylic Acid, and Oregano Oil - all antifungals. I avoid yeast, sugar, gluten, and most dairy. When the allergy is under control I only avoid yeast. The last time it flared up was in 2011 and I went back to eating sugar and gluten after six months. I do try to avoid carbs somewhat - no carbs at breakfast and low carb snacks. I do eat carbs with dinner and lunch is always a protein bar because of my school schedule, so that has carbs, but it only has 2g of sugar. It's a hard knock life ;)

I totally agree with this. I'm a Type 2 diabetic, and control my blood sugar with diet and exercise. "No sugar added" rarely (can't actually think of any instances) means no carbs. Perhaps you just don't want refined sugar, but I wanted to make sure you're not wanting low carbs.
BTW, the mango gelato was pretty good. Had it a couple of times last week there.

No, I don't have to watch carbs :) Just actual grams of sugar - not just refined sugar, all sugar. No sugar, agave, honey, etc. I'm sure I'll try the gelato! I have to eat something :p
