Stunt Show Update

SPOILERS AHEAD: DO NOT READ IF YOU WISH TO BE SURPRISEDD IN SHOW

I have to say that this is one of the coolest live action shows that I have ever seen. It is full of action and effects that range from a lagoon on fire (same effect as fantasmic) to a car being split in half. A funny part though is that the herby segment is not a preshow at all but a filler during one of the more elaborate set changes. Though the soft opening prevew shows have been running for a few weeks now they are still not consistent. One example is the fact that in some shows they have the glass for the motorcyclist to jump through and also the highfalls are only in some shows so far. An element that iscomplelty missing still are the jet skies in the lagoon, they are not even their and not being used, just complelty missing. The part of the show where someone is called on stage is also a very funny bit. The setup is that they say they have a remote controlled car and that they need someone to help with a scene. They then proceed to get a child out of the audience and they bring him down and he starts to control the car with a remote controller across the laggon from the car. They then get worried because he is hadling the car pretty widly and when he does a doughnut you see that this is actually the car with the driver anchored outside on the side of the car. One other effect that i noticed that is not being used is that on the runway right in front of the grandstands their are grates for drainage into the lagoon. The thing is though tht if you look down into the grates that are in front of the grand stands you see thhatin eache their are four multi directional mounted small water cannons that seem to be for hitting the audience sometime in the show. One other technical tidbit of info I found interesting was that the three main car ramps and actually built into the ground and are raised and lowered hydrolically when needed or not needed. This even applies to the ramp that goes across the lagoon, when the jet skies come in this ramp will be lowered under water while they are jeting around the lagoon and brought back up when a car needes to cross lagoon.

*pro tip*

Please use spell check!!!!!

That's a little harsh, if you can't contribute something good to a thread, don't post. Thank you.

Back on Topic, I agree that this stunt show rocks! I was able to see it on Sunday (without the jet skies) and was extremely impressed. Thanks for some info on other aspects of the show that I didn't know would be put in there!

Not old, just vintage.
We got to see the show on Thursday and I was thoroughly impressed. Eventhough they mentioned beforehand that it was just a rehersal there was nothing in the show that I could find that looked like it needed help. The stunts appeared to go off very well and I had no idea there were even more elements that were going to be added. I was also amazed at the size of the stadium...that thing is HUGE. Unless you like to climb a gazillion stairs I recommend getting a Fastpass and then getting their at the earliest possible time for that Fastpass. We got in right at the tailend of our "window of opportunity" and ended up what seemed like a million rows up (or atleast thats what my right knee thought). We got the last show of the day and it wasnt all that crowded so i can imagine what it will be like once it is open for real. It is definelty edge of your seat action and I was amazed to see how the stunt sequences eventually turn into the movie scenes. Cant wait to go back and see it with the jet skiis and other effects that I wasnt even aware were missing.

Yikes, the post was not meant to be harsh but to be constructive for the original poster. When someone has good information it would behoove them to spell-check the post in order to receive the clarity it deserves.

For anyone who has seen the Waterworld stunt show at Universal Hollywood and this show, how do they compare?
That show is pretty impressive even though the movie was horrible. They do some amazing things with jetskis in it.

I just saw the show today at Disneyland Studios Paris (see my pics in that forum). I had no real expectations, but that show blew me away! With the size of the crew and the amount of equipment, it is a BIG DEAL! I just never in my wildest imagination thought it would be what I saw. The car ballet parts were INCREDIBLE!

Help, quick!!!

We are driving up tomorrow, Friday for the weekend and hoping to get to MGM in time for the last Stunt Show of the day, what have been the show times for this show...when should we expect the last show to start. Is it published on the weekly schedule?
We probably won't be able to get there until after 6pm, so hopefully there is a 7pm show???
Can anyone answer this real quick before I go?

You might be able to find out if you were to contact MGM guest relations. The WDW switchboard number is (407) 824-2222, and they could probably connect you from there.

Stunt Show

I agree, the stunt show was amazing. Totally kept my attention the whole time. I want one of the cars, they are so cute! The driving in it is so amazing, I kept gasping cause I thought they were going to crash any second. Very great show. Did see the jet skis, but I figured something was happening with the water later on. :sohappy:

I've seen it in Paris and agree that is ws awesome. I can't wait to take my nephews to see it here in the states.

For the original poster, you may want to warn people of the spoilers that are in your post. Some people haven't read or seen some of those elements you describe that are surprises that make the show cool. Its cool nonetheless, but some people like to be surprised :animwink:

Should all the bugs be worked out and jet skis in operation for the end of May? I assume everything will be in full effect for May 5, correct?
