Yeah... but what fun would that be after Fed Emissions are put on it... and its dulled down to US styling. blah :(

Lotus managed to keep the Elise pretty true to form (They're finally bringing the Elise to these shores, though the engine is a Toyota Celica engine). The speedster was engineered by Lotus and is very similar to the Elise which it was based on... (Though not a direct clone)

they'd have to do what Lotus did to bring the Elise to these shores...

use a US Approved engine, and add airbags.. and I believe the speedster already has airbags..

so all they need is a US Certified motor... which GM has plenty of.

Supercharged V6? not a problem... borrow it from Pontiac

I watched a review on the elise you're getting in america (the exige over here i think) and it looks absolutely amazing.

Edit: Here's a link to the same program that did it, but I'm sure they were calling it an exige (I know that was already the racing version in britain) Still sounds like an amazing car though.

Elise 111S review

Edit2: Done a little more scounting (avoiding doing what I'm meant to be doing) and here's another review Review and the new exige is using the same Toyota engine as in this car. (Reckon thats where I'm getting the names mixed up. Nice review of the exige on that site too)
