Studios crowds during Super Soaps Weekend?

I just realized the weekend I'll be in WDW is the weekend of the Soaps Weekend. Does one generally want to avoid the Studios during this event? Is it mobbed? I'm not a soap opera fan, so if the crowds are crazy, I'd just avoid the Studios altogether those days.

I have not been, but my mother went once and said it was insanely busy. She did go on rides and said they had rather low wait times since people were at the events, but the park is very very full. I am going down that time again and we're going to stop in... Luckily, the Food and Wine Festival is still going on at Epcot then, so it's a nice alternative...

I have been there during soap weekend...my mom went 3 years in a row. And it is crazy packed that weekend. I actually just watched our disney vacation video when we went for super soap weekend in 2000 the other day, and we were just talking about how crowded the park was, and thank god we will be arriving at WDW on the day that it ends next month. The lines for rides shouldnt be too bad, since mostly everyone will be waiting in line to see the soap stars and you won't be. The line to get in the park will be verrrryyy long though.

Avoid the Studios at all cost.

My yearly vacation seems to always fall around that weekend. I've made it a point to avoid the Studios because of my experience the last couple of years. I couldn't believe my eyes at the mob of people that followed Susan Lucci last time around. If I was her I would've been scared  !

Hope that doesn't put a damper on the weekend for you. I still was able to ride most rides, I just didn't enjoy walking through the park that much.

November 11th and 12th.

And, of course, my trip is November 9-12.

I'll hit the Studios up early in the trip then. Thanks for the advice everyone!

I was at MGM in 2002, 2004 and 2006 during Super SOAP weekend and it's really busy. We are going again this year from November 3rd until November 11th and plan to visit MGM early in the week to avoid the crowds. One year some soap actor came out to the general plubic area with people around him and my nephew almost got crushed. These women just rushed this poor guy and it did not mater who was in their way. My advise is stay away from MGM those two days.

I wouldn't avoid the Studios during Super Soap Weekend. I was there during it and yes, the park is very crowded. Most of the people there are for the event. They are waiting in lines to see their favorite star and not in line for attractions. Attractions are usually not very crowded. If you can handle the crowds between attractions, you shouldn't have a problem.

Just an FYI, if you are going to see some of the celebs, expect to wait a long time. Actually most of the big name celebs have a pre line up where you get a wrist band or ticket and if you don't have that, you can't even get into line.
