Studios: Boarding Group Question

What time was park opening and what time did you arrive?
Park opening that day was 7 am. We arrived via Disney bus at 6:30 am. Did not have any bags so we were able to bypass the long bag check lines and just go through the metal detectors. Turnstiles opened at 6:35 am but it took ten minutes for us to get through the gate.

There are lots of “tips” in the lengthy thread I just posted above but the most important is to use cellular data rather than Wifi and have someone in your party watch a clock with a second hand to be prepared to hit “Find Out More” the moment it turns :00.

No
You can make FP+ for Millennium Falcon Smuggler's Run and Star Tours.
You currently cannot make a FP+ for Rise of the Resistance.
Your entire party needs to have entered the park and then you can go on the app and check for a Boarding Group.
Currently you really need to arrive at the park prior to opening if you want to get it.

Not that soon is my guess; March starts tomorrow!

I’m sure they will move to either stand-by only or FPs & stand-by when the ride is reliable enough to cope.
I wasn't expecting them to be gone in March, which started today, and that is why I said we were hoping to get a boarding group(BG).

Yes
Hope passholders that go often chime in because I had no problem going alone and cast member experience did not mention this was not allowed and or a curtesy or anything to that regard.

As it was stated before you got some extra Magic. Per Disney's Website:

"Can I join the virtual queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance before I enter Disney's Hollywood Studios?

No. To join the virtual queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, you—and all members of your party who would like to use the virtual queue—must have entered Disney's Hollywood Studios. ......"
