Studios Bed Situation

This may be a dumb question which isn't a shock for me ;) but why don't some of the studios have two beds instead of one bed and the pull out? If there are some out there, I have never stayed in one or seen it offered. Even if you get a 1 bedroom someone is sleeping on a pull out and I keep having nightmares about "the bar" from Seinfeld.

I may be wrong, but I think only OKW studios have 2 beds. We recently stayed at a studion at AKL & BCV. DD said the pullout bed was really comfortable. No bar!

I remember that episode. Very funny:). Our last trip out my son slept on one of those pullout chairs at BLT and the thing was actually pretty comfortable. Probably too small for a grown man but great for kids or short people.

That is correct, OKW has two beds. The pullouts (which I end up on in 1BR and studios) are very comfortable, sleeper chair included!

Because they are studios and include a couch for comfort purposes. DVC is designed to feel like a home away from home so they include a couch.

The pull out is NOT the nightmare you are thinking of....it is actually a multi-piece mattress that is VERY comfortable. I am 6'2 and have slept on it with no issues (and I have back issues). I have two friends who are 6'3 (270 pounds too - he's a big boy!) and 6'4 and both have slept on these beds with no problems....

That being said - the OKW studios are very spacious...if you can live without the couch, it is the better accomodations in my opinion!

I remember that episode! However, speaking from experience, the sleeper sofas in the DVC rooms are quite comfy. No bar to worry about!

I thought that all of the furniture was custom made by Thomasville for the DVC resorts. Maybe I am wrong. The pull outs are supposed to be super comfy from what I have been told.

The pullout at Saratoga Springs was most definitely not comfortable. The 'mattress' was 3 separate hard pads with cracks in between them. The pads were hard. We ended up buying some exercise mats and mattress pads to lay on top of the 'mattress' just to be able to sleep without numbing our hips and back. I got used to it with all this extra padding after a few days but it was a shock, having heard in the past that the pullouts were very comfortable.
