How close is LMA to Backlot?

I could see a quick retheme of LMA to a "Cars" themed spycraft action show if Pixar Place is expanded. This would save substantial t-and-m versus the DCA clone idea. Plus it would leave the Backlot area's footprint for the Monster Inc: InDoor Coaster, a unnamed Pixar-themed spinner/flat ride and a Bugs Life Playground (Honey I Shrunk "set" relocated) in theory.

If Hollywood Studios is going the way of the Dodo..."Lights,Motors,Action!" has to be next.

Not really, since LMA borders on the BLT all that would be needed would be a few eyeballs stuck on the stunt cars and just like that you have a Carsland connection.

As it is a 25 year old attraction that many people have seen plenty of times therefore isn't a surprise anymore. They don't need to keep anything, bulldoze and start again. There is sort of the same logic with Maelstrom, it would be better to replace complenty instead of overlaying.
Guess we should just bulldoze Maelstrom and stick frozen there as well. After all it is a 25+ year old attraction............................

I would rather that was done than trying to fit it into the existing ride mechanism, at least then it can be more state of the art. Of course adding an additional new attraction would be even better (in Epcot). But in the case of the Backlot Tour it takes up too much space so it has to go to make room for newness.

Newness is welcomed at BLT, to me the ride feels "old" and not "classic" as some rides do at it's age and even beyond.

Yes, I know where they both are located now. What I don't know is how close Soundstage 1 is to OMD. I posted earlier that it would make a tremendous addition to OMD especially if they did the display area to look like a hanger and put some of the internal components back in the plane. (i.e. Seats, tables, etc., like it was when Walt flew in it). I know I'd go to the park just to see that. If SS1 is just below Toy Story then it wouldn't work.

Most likely is they'll Probably Restore the Aircraft to the Point where it could Startup and Fly again and that Hopefully either they'll fly it out to The Orlando International Airport and Display it there or they'll Probably will just tug tow it to Disney Saratoga Springs for the new Aviation Themed Restaurant..

Poor SBT... Being put out of its misery. It was a great idea though, and probably one of the best original rides at HS, for better or for worse.

UGH is all I have to say. I wish I did Backlot on my last trip. I really did enjoy it and so did my kiddies. Hollywood Studios intention was all about the movies...if they keep taking all of the movies attractions/shows out, it won't be about the movies anymore which is so disappointing. We all know Great Movie Ride is next. :(
