strollers...rental vs. bringing your own

just looking for a little input from some of you WDW vets; i am heading to WDW on jan. 9, bringing a 3 year old. she hasn't used a stroller in months, but we are sure she'll want one for in the parks. i am leaning towards just using rental strollers and not bringing hers, to try and save us some headaches with the airlines and busses. i haven't rented strollers before, so i'm not sure what to expect. any advice would be great!

Everything depends on your child. When we took my nephew at 2 1/2 we rented a stroller the first day and he didn't use it once. He didn't want to be in it and was use to doing a great deal of walking, so from that point on we didn't get one and he was just fine walking the entire time without being carried. Even when we went with his sister when she was 4 1/2 yrs old, she walked the entire time, a stroller was not even a consideration at that point.

Beware that during certain times of the year Disney does not offer the multiday rental option. So you will pay the full price each day currently $10 for a single and $18 for a double. Renting will cost you, esp. if you will be there for more than a week. In that case it would be cheaper to buy a stroller or bring your own. But you will deal with the bus/tram issue. When the kids are really little, their own stroller is the best option. When they get older and renting is easier. Its really just a matter of choice. We used to bring our PegPerego on every trip. Now we only need a stroller for Epcot and just rent one. Good luck either way!
