Hello, I am going to disneyworld in oct my daughter will be 2. My question is do I bring a stroller with me? Since I will have it at the airport with me? Is that considered a baggage that I have to check and pay for? The other choice was to rent at the parks , but I have a park hopper and would I have to pay for each time I changed parks for a stroller? Any info will helpful. Thanks a bunch.

It may depend on your airline, but most will gate check it for you at no extra cost. That way, it is waiting for you as you get off the plane. I believe you just pay once at the first park and take your receipt to the second park and they don't charge you again. I think they also have a multi-day rental. Something you may want to look into. I personally liked having our own strollers. I knew we would be comfortable while pushing it, and the kids would be comfortable while riding. We invested in Maclaren umbrella strollers before our first trip. The were lightweight and easy to fold, but very comfortable for the kids and had ample storage baskets underneath. Have a great trip!!

The first year we went we rented from the parks and our stroller was okay. We found it hard to not have a stroller while walking to and waiting for the bus back to the resort. The next 3 trips we rented from http://kingdomstrollers.com/ and loved it. They drop them off at your resort or hotel and then pick them up at the end of your trip. We loved the double stroller so much that we bought one for home and took it with us on our last trip.

Airline checked ours at the gate. That way you have it in the airport and you have it for the long walks to and from the bus stops. Also if you go to DTD you have a stroller. Just make sure it folds up easy, cause you will need to fold to get on the bus. Have fun! Also take a scarf or piece of colorful fabric to tie on handle to make it easier to find.

As it has been stated, most airlines will not charge you for your own stroller and it will be waiting for you as you deplane. You just need to go up to the gate counter and get a stroller tag from them for it before boarding.

Also, you just pay for the daily rental and take the receipt with you and use it at the other park.

We had always brought our own stroller vs renting one because your own stroller will be more comfortable than the hard plastic ones at the parks.

We always bring our own stroller. We like to have it to use around the airport and around the hotel. We have flown on lots of different airlines and have never been charged for checking a stroller or car seat. If you take a stroller, definitely take it all the way to the gate with you. When you get to your gate, you just go up to the desk and get a gate check tag. Then you leave the stroller in the jetway right outside of the aircraft. If your daughter is not always a cooperative walker, like mine, I also recommend keeping them in the stroller all the way down the jetway. Generally those lines move slow enough that you don't hold anyone up by getting your kid out and folding it up at the end of the jetway, and it will save your arms from a lot of fatigue.

We always brought our own stroller. The umbrella ones fold up nicely and you can get stroller covers at Babies for the "liquid sunshine". Kids can actually see through them and there are mesh vents for breathing (unlike the ponchos people throw over their kids when it rains). We folded that up and kept it in the mesh bag on the back of the stroller.

Strollers are great for the airport, resort stay and for when it's nap time for them - and not for you. We never took the time to walk to the front of the park , walk to the bus, wait for the bus, take a bus ride, walk to our room, let the kids nap in the resort room, and then do it all in reverse to get back to the park. If they fell asleep - we would shop without their whining (my husband wants me to write that he still had to hear my whining that I needed something ) or enjoy a nice, quiet moment with a grand marnier orange slushie in Epcot :p.

Unless your daughter is enamored with her stroller, I would rent one from the company suggested. Planes are too crowded these days and carting a stroller around is such a pain in the *** (I know, I did it when we visited my folks for my daughter's 1st birthday).

That said, if you rent, rent the umbrella style stroller with the top - it will be much easier to handle getting on and off the buses. And if you happen to stay at a resort that doesn't have elevators (Caribbean Beach & Alligator Bayou in POR), it will be much easier carting up several flights of stairs.

I struggle with renting something that I could purchase and own for the same price.

We gate checked our umbrella. This doesn't cost any extra. It was nice to have in the airport. She was contained.

The umbrella was also very easy to close up and doesn't take up a lot of room on the buses or while walking in the parks

*whispers* isn't your daughter late 20's you can get some super fancy/light umbrella strollers these days. Nothing like when I/she was younger ;-) my mom was impressed with ours! they are pretty easy to handle in the airport

I agree with everyone who says to bring a stroller and gate check it. You'll be glad to have it in the airports.

But--get a stroller bag. The airplane holds are dirty. I wrap my son's booster in two garbage bags and then a gate check bag and the outer bag always comes out filthy. :depressed:

Thats for all the great info. I am now looking into what one to buy. I saw a summer infant 3D 2015 thats seems nice and folds down for $80 on amazon.

When my son was younger we also used the Maclaren. It worked great. Folded up real small so it didn't take a lot of space in the hotel and was comfy enough that he could fall a sleep in it. Ours had 3 seating positions which was nice. And when it came time to sell it we got out 75% of what we paid for it.

Yes she is. ;). I guess I will learn in a few years how much strollers have improved since then. :D

When my kids were younger and wouldn't have done well walking through the airport, I would bring our stroller. However, once the kids were old enough to manage the airport, yet not quite strong enough to walk all day in the parks, we'd rent. Our home strollers by that point were too lightweight to be suitable for days in the parks (tried it once = big regret), so the price to rent a City Mini Double (which we LOOOOOOOOOOVED) was far cheaper than buying a stroller good for all day in the parks.

Depends on how much you love your stroller. The strollers at the theme parks are not that great. Kingdom stroller have much better ones to rent. We brought our own from home. It's a dual jogger/bike stroller. So it's very comfy for the kids and turns on a dime with almost no effort. So in the end, do you and your child really love the stroller you have.
