Stroller Rentals and Insurance?

Hello Everyone. I've done some research and it seems that there are some mixed opinions regarding which is the best Stroller rental company and whether or not Stroller insurance is a good idea. I was curious to see what the group here thought. I have three kiddos (ages 7,4,& >1yr) so I'm betting that someone will pretty much always be in the stroller. That being said, the baby will probably end up in a baby carrier most of the time.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

If the baby isn't going to need a stroller, you might be better off bringing a cheap umbrella stroller for the 4-year-old to use occasionally, if needed. If you need a stroller that is suitable for the baby and possibly the 4-year-old, someplace like Kingdom Strollers (which will deliver/pick-up from your resort) would be worth looking into.

Candidly, my kids did fine without strollers at WDW starting at age 4, but every child is different. You know your kids' stamina and fitness level best.

Thank you for your thoughts!
We did want to have the stroller so that the baby could possible lay down and take a nap in the park and the double would allow the 4 Year old (she will actually turn 4 two weeks after we get there) to get in and ride if her legs get tired, its too crowded to let her walk on her own, or if we need to get to another area quicker than she generally like to move, lol.
I just wasn't sure if Insurance was a MUST HAVE or if one stroller rental company was really that much better than another. I have heard that a cover of some kind is important because it typically will sprinkle here and there during the day.

Most will include a rain cover for free as long as you check the "Rain Cover" box when you order the stroller. Most of the authorized stroller rental agencies are pretty similar. Price is comparable, and they all seem to offer a few of the same models. They do each seem to offer one non standard model that the others don't, like Kingdom Strollers offers a BOB option. I'd imagine they are expected to maintain a certain level of cleanliness to maintain that WDW authorized tag. That said, I think each time I've ordered one there has been something not 100% with it. Once the clip only had 2 of the 3 prongs, another time the break occasionally got stuck on the wheel, etc.

I've gotten the insurance, but that's a personal choice. These things take alot of use, and I'd rather not get charged full value for a stroller that just happened to break because of wear. I haven't seen anyone try to challenge the stroller company billing them, but $15 to make sure I don't have to pay $300 is a reasonable fee to me. Especially for something that gets as beat on a stroller.

The stroller may (or may not) be helpful in giving them a place to nap. We usually rent the same model we have at home so our DS is quite used to sleeping in it. Letting the <1 and the 4yo crash in the carrier/stroller respectively could let the 7yo keep going in the park instead of having to make the trek back to the hotel.

We used Kingdom Strollers the last time we visited and are using Orlando Strollers this time. The pricing is pretty much identical but we chose to use Orlando Stroller rentals this time as they have the McLaren Stroller that allows the most weight per side of any of the double strollers. That way our 7 year old will have the option of using it if need be. We have not taken the insurance and didn't take it last time either, I agree that it's a personal choice.

We used A Baby’s Best Friend to rent a crib in 2016. At the time, they were the cheapest. When we checked in, we texted them our room number and they delivered right to our door. They were great to work with. Our kids were 5 & 1 and we brought our own double stroller from home. It was super easy at the airport to fold up and hand off when we were boarding. Our baby napped great in it. We also brought a clip on fan from home as well :)

Just a side note, they can not charge you for a brand new stroller to replace a used stroller. They can only get the value of what a used stroller would go for. All you would have to say is that you know the law.
