If the City Mini GT is only a few bucks more (and it usually is), that's the one I choose. It has better wheels and maneuvers very well, and the seat is roomier, which is nice for a bigger kid. It's heavier than the regular GT but I've never had a problem lifting it into the car or anything.

be careful what you rent. I rented a city elite when we went a few years ago. Now I own three. And they are not CHEAP!!!!

but worth every penny

How much heavier do you think a GT is? And is it much bigger??

Looking into this also :)

A regular City Mini is 16 lbs, the GT is 21 lbs. I've rented the GT 3 times in WDW, and lifted it in and out of the rental SUV constantly with no problems. Feels like the weight of a regular Mini to me, despite the extra 5 lbs.

The seat is slightly wider and deeper than a regular Mini. It doesn't feel like a monster when you're pushing it. It feels the same size as the regular Mini, from what I remember when my son was a baby, just with better maneuverability. It pushes and rolls very smoothly, because the tires are better. My son is 54 lbs. and tall, and he still fit nicely in a rented GT last month. I think he's too big to be in a stroller at WDW (he's almost 6) but he disagrees, so I caved. He was very comfortable in it and had plenty of room to wiggle around, and he didn't look overgrown or "too big" for it.

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated! :)

I've never used the GT, but back in our stroller days...LOOOOVED the City Mini Double for our girls. They look much heavier than they are and while our only experience is the double, it folded very easily. With the exception of 1 trip where I brought a different stroller, we always rented and loved having our stroller there when we checked in and dropping it off in bell services at check out.
