Stressing about schedule

We’ll be at WDW December 3rd-10th. We’re going to MVMCP on the 6th, it’ll be my first time (my husbands too but he’s not a Disney person so he could care less.) One of my must dos for our trip in general is dinner at Be Our Guest, and I managed to get us reservations at 7:45 on the night of the 6th. I know we’ll most likely be missing a Frozen Holiday Wish (according to last years map schedule) but now I’m worrying that the chances of making it back to the castle area for Mickey’s Merriest Celebration at 9:25 (again, according to last year). Am I stressing for no reason or am I right to be concerned? I obviously understand that trying to adhere to any kind of schedule at Disney is a fools errand and I should just enjoy the experience. But as someone who plans way far in advance (499 days to be exact 😂) I like to make sure I’m at least seeing everything I want. I tried to change the reservation to an earlier time but of course there’s no availability. Any tips?

I would ask if it is dinner your heart is set on or just eating at BOG?
If it is dinner, keep the reservation for dinner, and just keep trying to move it up.
But, if it is only to eat at BOG and get the experience of the castle, lunch is much more casual as you get your own drinks but they still bring your food to you. You also get to pick the room you would like to sit in. Dinner is now very expensive compared to lunch with the new prix fixe menu.
I have had the pleasure of eating dinner when it first opened, lunch several times and breakfast there last year. I think lunch is a resonable way to go and will not cut into your party time that is fairly expensive itself with lots of things to see and do.
I would say it’s more the experience but I also think the new menu looks to die for, haha! So I’m torn. The new price isn’t an option as we do dining plan and usually pick one meal to pay out of pocket (we love Cali Grill and that’s 2 credits.) but then I suppose lunch would be a good way to still experience the castle. Do you not get to pick your room at dinner?

I have not eaten dinner with the new prix fixe menu (not willing/ too cheap) to use 2 credits for it!
I will say the reviews I have read from people who have eaten there since the change are favorable.
I don't know if you are permitted to pick your room or they just seat you where ever at dinner. Maybe some one else on here will know the answer to that.

It would make sense if they didn’t let you pick the room, seeing as regular non-Disney restaurants generally sit you where the next server’s available.

You guys! I was able to get a lunch reservation and cancel dinner! I got an alert at 4:53 am while I was sleeping that there was a reservation open and so when I woke up at 6 I figured it would be gone but it wasn’t! This is perfect as it’s at 12:25, so we’ll be able to have lunch and then go back to our resort to rest for a couple of hours before going back for the party. And it means I won’t have to rearrange the entire week’s plans. So exciting!

Thank you! I do think the dinner menu looks better but I’m more in it for the experience. Plus this also frees up 2 TS credits that we can use at California Grill on our arrival day.
