Strange: "Unofficial" character getting the boot...

Hey guys,
<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:pI came across this strange link while doing some general Disney surfing. Has anyone seen this before? It isn’t anything exciting or important, just very uncommon and strange. It does answer my question for what Disney would actually do to a guest who arrived in "headed character" gear. I would love to see security’s reaction to some knock off Mickey get-up...lol.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p

Enjoy:<O:p</O:p

Who in there right mind would think that Disney would allow non-Disney characters in the park?

:veryconfu

My only question is how did he get that far into the park before he was stopped?

Adults are not allowed to wear costumes of any type into the park except on special occassions like the not so scary halloween party. They had every right to throw him out. How the heck did he get in in the first place?

Looks to me like they were hoping that if they made a scene then security would let them slide in order to avoid looking like the bad guys in a magical place...

guess they were wrong.

That guy needs to get a life. I don't care who you are, you shouldn't be wearing a full fledged costume inside of a Disney park (unless you're a CM getting paid to do so). You can bet that he didn't enter the park wearing it. He has no right to complain about being asked to remove the costume and/or leaving the park. It's Disney's property and they have the final say in all matters. I love how he said that there was a lot of media around when there was no media, just his stooges taking photographs of the actions that he KNEW were going to happen.

He's just trying to throw egg in Disney's face and I'm not buying it.

Who ir What is Myduke?? should I know??
No idea.

And what a jerk. Trying to make Disney seem like the bad guy when he clearly went in there with an ulterior motive. He knew there was no way Disney could allow some grown up guy to wander the park in some handmade costume like that. So he makes a scene and then tries to say security was the one in the wrong? That makes as much sense as saying the cop was wrong for stopping you when you ran the red light.

He tries to come across all "hoilier then thou" on his page there, but really, he was being a disruption and willfully violating WDW's rules. How that is a represenation of "positive family values" is beyond me.

I was thinking he probably brought the costume into the park and put it on somewhere near the ride. It's a clear safety concern. I'm always worried at Halloween (not in disney but in general) with people wearing masks. Like they could just commit a crime and remove the mask later and there would be no way to ID them...i.e. "I was mugged by Batman!" :lookaroun

This was a stunt by Disney,, Myduke will be a new character Disney introduces.. He is a white bengal tiger who is a prankster, similar to Stitch.. he has a human son...

Oh heck.. How did he get in the park with the costume on or even sneak the costume head past security?? Weird...

I just noticed that this is listed under "Promotional Stunts" on the site. http://4myduke.com/myduke_006.htm. He's just trying to promote his crappy character at the expense of Disney. His cries of "Myduke considered future competition!!!" and "Disney considers Myduke too famous to stay in park due to future competition of the world wide known animated figure." are ridiculous.

is this for real? if it is, then his mission to fight child ography is a noble cause, but he went about it the wrong way. why would it matter if he got to ride on the carousel with his kid as a tiger? especially since the kid knows its him? and what media was around for this? ive never heard of him. i did a search. hes pulled stunts like this before. apparently he broke into a really old lighthouse and threatened vandalism so that he could get he message out. unfortunately though it seems like hes also trying to promote the childrens books he writes that is the character myduke.... it all sounds way too weird, and i think disney handled the situation appropriately

That was interesting...

Look on the bright side, maybe he could have been the Universe of Energy Macott from 1982-1996!!! :hammer: :lookaroun

I'm sure Disney is worried enough about their own characters/employees getting caught up in a molestation lawsuit. What if they let random people wander around in costume? The minute someone prenting to be Mickey leads a little boy into a bathroom it would be a PR nightmare. They should have beaten this moron and thrown him in the Seven Seas Lagoon.

This is pretty stupid. This guy made up a lame, poorly drawn character, and then goes around and performs stunts like this to promote it. That is rediculously sad, he needs to get a life really.

Michael Moore and Crackers the Corporate greed fighting chicken made it all through fantasyland in the mid 90's before being stopped in front of 20k and escorted out of the park. I'm thinking it had to be an inside job to get a costume that big through the turnstiles without anyone noticing. The segment aired on Fox many years ago on a show he had called TV Nation.

Disney considers Myduke too famous to stay in park due to future competition of the world wide known animated figure.

taken from his website.

Well, whatever he is trying to do worked. I am sure the amount of hits his site got, just from the members of this board alone, doubled. But, really, Myduke too famous for Disney? What a moron.

Actually, how the heck did he even get on the ride in the costume? Wouldn't a CM notice this and not allow him on?

As children screamed for Myduke's attention, Myduke asked for permission to board the ride. The attendent answered, "No Problem!" and that he could wear his costume during the ride.

From his site, biggest load of bull I've ever seen

I'm sure it was more like "Myduke shoved his way past people in wheel chairs in the handicapped enterance and asked permission to ride. The ride attendant flatly said "NO" and called security."

BTW, the secret's out! Myduke is actually the evilqueen's husband.
