Stitch's Great Escpape

not that SGE needs anymore thoughts...

i think SGE shows just how eisner has gotten worse over the years with care for the park. reason: eisner rode alien encounter right when it opened, and he had problems with it, so it was shut down and touched up into the great ride it closed as. and you guys are absolutely right, how did the same person who did that let SGE fly.

My opinion on the ride space - take away stitch, put back in another story featuring X-S Tech, whatever happened to original characters / story.

...need to get a copy of disney war...

LOL I love it when AE comes up in topics!! I loved AE so much!!

I want to protest again SGE and not go on it, but I have to once just to see what it is about. I'm 100% postive that I will not be happy with SGE either.

The attraction has many problems with story, however, it does have the finest animatronics in any park. To me it's worth the wait just to see those. However, it then leaves the frustrating thought that it could have been so much more.

I agree Steve, well put.

I can't say I was disappointed, I would definitely ride it again cause i'm a huge Stitch fan and the animatronics are incredible. But like Steve said, it could have been so much more.

BTW, Welcome mikemclaughlin :)

I loved EE, and I'm sorry I only got to ride it once before it was closed (it's a long walk from here).

The best things about SGE are the animatronic Stitch (sooo real!) and the ending, which is

Oh yeah - forgot. There isn't one. Are they leaving that for SGE2, soon to be built in CoP?

(I'm going to regret saying that, ain't I?)

Interesting book, isn't it?

I think it's too short. :D

I am a little disappointed that it does not touch on the theme parks more.....but I guess you can only do so much, with soooooo much juicy information.......its opened my eyes to the CEO/Director levels of corporations....

Hi Mike,

If I weren't such a huge fan of Stitch, I'd be sorely disappointed. But I love stitch, so it's funny. Though I'm not a fan of the chili breath, ew.

Thats what I dont understand. If you are such a big Stitch fan, why are you not concerned that they totally abused the fan and put something out that is totally out of sequence with the story? It would make more sense as "Experement 626 Great Escape". They could have easily changed the story to fit a post movie theme. For example, have Stitch trying to save one of his "brothers" or whatever they call them on the current series. It would make more sense.....

That is exactly what I was saying two years ago when info about SGE was coming out. I know Stitch fans should be happy to have an attraction based on their favorite character, but you would think that they would be MORE upset than anyone else about SGE's faults.

It would be like if they decided to put an AE "Sequal" in the MK or MGM and it turned out to be a total disgrace. I wouldn't be happy that the characters were back in the parks, I would be furious that they butchered them.

Of course, if you are a Stitch fan that likes SGE, then you're sound as a pound.

Hi everyone,

This is my first post so forgive me if i post in the wrong place! People on IOA go mental about that! I have just got back from Walt Disney World and while i was there i queued over an hour to go on Stich's great escape. I thought the attraction would be quite good as it had a long queue and the previous Alien encounter was good - but i was disappointed! does anyone else feel the same way about this attraction?

Don't always judge an attraction by a long queue.

I was a huge fan of both experiment 626 and stitch. I thought they were both equally obnoxious and humourous. Stitch is the name that people identify with. Non "fans" wouldn't know what Experiment 626 is. Kids know him as Stitch. So I get why they call it Stitch's Great Escape. I also understand why they needed to keep it a dark ride. So all in all I don't think that it's a horrible ride and I like what they have done. Could it have been better? Sure. But so could the flying carpets over in Adventureland. That ride could have been amazing. (likened to soarin) but NOOO it's a stupid dumbo/dino kiddie ride. Can't please everyone

I've never gone on SGE and I never plan to. What is the big hipe about Stitch? Why is he so popular when he really is stupid and annoying. The Resort Monorail speal is ruined because of him interupting. "Welcome to Stitch Kingdom. Mahalo, and have a magical day." I mean how dumb! The best part is when he bangs his head as you exit. Too bad he keeps on talking.

Yeah, I've just been frequenting the boards more often because our vacation is coming up! I usually start lurking and posting about 2 months prior and then 1 month after to get over the depression. (I'm big on trip reports) Any other time I just stop in to get my "fix" lol

My theory on that is that 1. not a lot of people would know who or what Experiment 626 was (This goes along with what Kelly said) and 2. even fewer people would know anything about Stitch trying to save his "brothers" because not many people watch the TV series.

I do agree that the storyline needs to be changed.

and off topic, maybe I should pick up the copy of Disney War...I kind of forgot it existed and always have thought it would be a good read.
