I agree that MS is an amazing attraction. By itself, the ride is an absolute +. As a pavilion, however, MS moves slightly to the - side. I'll do a calculated review on it after the holiday, but I'll assure you it's much higher on my list than Stitch -- and keep in mind I do not hate the new attraction.

Well you asked so here goes...
Ive been on SGE twice now, the first time running to it and the second time dragged. When i give my opinion of SGE, most often the immediate response is "that not every attraction has to be a thrill ride and that there needs to be things for kids to do?" well i agree, in fact my favorite Disney attractions are NOT thrill rides. I really feel that Stitch was thought up by a manager more so that an imagineer. It sure feels like it anyway. Its bloody aweful. Part of me wishes that Disney would do things great again -like Dino Roma?..... I dunno? Stitch Escapes Me?

YOU'VE NEVER EVEN BEEN ON IT! :brick:

How can you comment on something you've never experienced? Videos don't count.

Well, I'm judging it from what I've already seen and heard. I will give a whole review when I've actually ridden it.

How about this: Go over to Metropolis Science Center (when it's open  ) and get in that time machine. Save the Alien Encounter and bring Stitch to the Enchanted Tiki Room. There, he can join the original show (which he disrupts) and will learn the importance of Ohana in the spirit of Polynesia.

This would save a classic attraction and tremendously increase the **attendance** (and worth ;) ) of the Enchanted Tiki Room UNM. Plus, no one is scared. :)

Grizz,

Good review, but I didn't bother to put THAT much thought into it. I was just bored and disappointed.

Too bad they changed the Tiki room years ago (which I like better than the original). But Stitch would be perfect to bring in there and reinvigorate a dying attraction.

Who knew that O'Hana would have taken off all those years ago :D

They could still put LILO and Stitch in there I guess. It would fit the theme perfectly and would be just as popular as SGE, IMO.

I, personally, wouldn't be too excited about a Stitch changeover for the Tiki Room, but I think it is a really good idea. Maybe it will happen, but probably not.

It isn't going to happen by a longshot. They jsut changed the attraction, added a NEW Stitch attraction, he won't be in 2 atractions in the same park.

IF Tiki Room was still the original, there would have been a good chance of Stich being added, but we're about 8 years and few million $$$ too late :D

We just came back yesterday from the world where I rode Stich with my 3 Daughters (7,6,5). The 7 year old liked it but freaked during soem of teh dark spots and really lost it when Stich messed up her hair at the very end. The other 2 didn't freak out but they didn't like it either. I thought it was good but not nearly as good as AE. Obviously the attraction isn't going anywhere but it is not anything special. :(

Well maybe they could go with just the Lilo changover. Just focus on Lilo and her family and have a Stitch cameo at the end or something. I can see it now "Lilo's Great Tiki Room"

MICKEY'S PHILHARMAGIC REVIEW: 21/25 POINTS: STORY
- Clear, creative, original storyline: 6/10
The story is not clear -- Donald puts on a hat and suddenly we're in a bunch of Disney movies?
- Do the elements and effects serve the storyline? 10/10
Definitely. Special effects are nice, including the smellitzers and lighting.
- Is the story relevant/do we care?/Does the audience act in an active position? 5/5
We are audience members to Mickey's orchestra. And, yes, we care!

19/20 POINTS: AUDIENCE APPEAL
- Young children: 5/5
- Adolescents/young adults: 4/5 (I'm sure there's a percentage of boys who'll go "Aw, mom, one more ride on Space Mntn? Then they'll be pleasantly surprised ;) )
- Parents/adults: 5/5
- Seniors: 5/5

15/20 POINTS: METHOD
- Novel technologies 7/10
For being a new attraction, there isn't much in the way of new technology/SFX. But 7 points for GREAT new animation of the Disney characters.
- Is the attraction quality up to Disney standards? 8/10
Not exactly the prettiest queue area/theatre roof, but otherwise, nice design.

20/20 POINTS: ENGAGING ELEMENTS
- Endearing or effecive characters/emotional story: 10/10
Duhh!
- Inspiration or fulfillment/take-home point/message: 10/10
Definitely inspiring. In that Disney sense.

11/15 POINTS: Other elements
- Queue/Preshow and/or Postshow: 1/5
No preshow/poor queue.
- Music/soundtrack: 5/5
Duhh!
- Does this attraction truly add to the themed land/park/resort?: 5/5
Definitely a great Fantasyland attraction.

FINAL GRADE: 86/100 = GOOD!

AMERICAN ADVENTURE REVIEW:
25/25 POINTS: STORY
- Clear, creative, original storyline: 10/10
Definitely a clear and creative story.
- Do the elements and effects serve the storyline? 10/10
And what effects are there. . . great attention to detail.
- Is the story relevant/do we care?/Does the audience act in an active position? 5/5
The story is VERY relevant to Epcot/America/World Showcase message.

16/20 POINTS: AUDIENCE APPEAL (I'm only taking off a few points because some guests find these kind of attractions as "boring"...)
- Young children: 4/5
- Adolescents/young adults: 3/5
- Parents/adults: 4/5
- Seniors: 5/5

20/20 POINTS: METHOD
- Novel technologies 10/10
I *still* can't figure out the technology put into this 20 year old attraction. In other words, it's still novel after all these years! Also, new A-100 animatronics are some of the best at Epcot/WDW.
- Is the attraction quality up to Disney standards? 10/10
Complete attention to detail/realism. Big "wow" on the quality part.

20/20 POINTS: ENGAGING ELEMENTS
- Endearing or effecive characters/emotional story: 10/10
Yep. . . we learn to love our two hosts. VERY emotional, especially during some of the sadder scenes/Golden Dream.
- Inspiration or fulfillment/take-home point/message: 10/10
Definitely inspiring with messages throughout the whole dang show.

15/15 POINTS: Other elements
- Queue/Preshow and/or Postshow: 5/5
Voices of Liberty. . . talk about a preshow.
- Music/soundtrack: 5/5
Great original music.
- Does this attraction truly add to the themed land/park/resort?: 5/5
Definitely the best World Showcase show.

FINAL GRADE = 96/100 A+++++

KILIMANJARO SAFARI REVIEW:
24/25 POINTS: STORY
- Clear, creative, original storyline: 9/10
Safari with a great twist -- a story is added.
- Do the elements and effects serve the storyline? 10/10
Animals?? I guess.
- Is the story relevant/do we care?/Does the audience act in an active position? 5/5
We have two great purposes -- as Safari guests and poacher hunters!

19/20 POINTS: AUDIENCE APPEAL
- Young children: 5/5
- Adolescents/young adults: 4/5
- Parents/adults: 5/5
- Seniors: 5/5

18/20 POINTS: METHOD
- Novel technologies 8/10
An awesome way the animals can be so close and yet so "far!" Except for that giraffe.
- Is the attraction quality up to Disney standards? 10/10
Talk about quality!

19/20 POINTS: ENGAGING ELEMENTS
- Endearing or effecive characters/emotional story: 9/10
A very effective story.
- Inspiration or fulfillment/take-home point/message: 10/10
A great message sent to Animal Kingdom visitors.

15/15 POINTS: Other elements
- Queue/Preshow and/or Postshow: 5/5
Great quality/video!
- Music/soundtrack: 5/5
It fits into the storyline. Love the "radio" music.
- Does this attraction truly add to the themed land/park/resort?: 5/5
A definite yes!

FINAL GRADE = 95/100 A+++++

The best part about this grading scale is that my most favorite attractions aren't necessarily A+++'s. I think this helps with an "overall" look at the value of a theme park attraction. Your thoughts?

You can also see the differences: Mickey's Philharmagic vs. American Adventure. Although some guests might find one show more entertaining than the other, I believe there is a difference between a great (80s) and an excellent (90s) attraction, based on the ratings I applied to this formula.

Oooo Oooo!

Will you rate something else like, um, uh, I dunno, TTA?

I want to see how something that is not a high volume ride rates. :D

I wouldn't count TTA on this scale, simply because it isn't a full-fledged "show." It serves its purpose well; it is a tour around the attractions of Tomorrowland.

Mr. Page, I did these out of a request and 15 minutes to spare this morning. Bah Humbug to you, too. :D

Also, I'd like to see others rate SGE (or other attractions) using this scale. It seems like MKT did. :)
