Stitches Great Escape Question

I often wondered why this ride got replaced. I loved it, and I liked how the tension was built up.
I remember sitting in the seats facing the middle, and the room going black and the alien going around the room and breathing on your neck. I also remember the spotlight going around the room, which stopped over my dad. We thought something was going to happen to him!!!
Such a shame it had to go. I like Stitch, but its just not the same!

As much as I loved Alien Encounter (I was 11 when I last rode it and yes, it scared me an incredible amount) I think for WDW, Stitch is a better replacement, as its mainly for the kids. I also agree that it should have been put at Studios.

Since when was WDW supposed to only be "for the kids"?

Since it seems like Stitch's Great Escape isn't going anywhere soon, yet so many fans would like to see Alien Encounter come back, why not gut that terrible Sounds Dangerous theater and replace it with Alien Encounter. Studios would be a much better fit for that thing!

Now I would say this would work due to George Lucas work for the attraction as an unofficial producer and it would fit in the so called "LucasLand" Section.

Alien Encounter was a PHENOMENAL attraction. It was completely immersive, and its sense of journey was unmatched by any other Tomorrowland attraction. You actually like you were a part of the experiment, and the tension built slowly as you moved through the various pre-show rooms.

However, the attraction was placed in the wrong park. It was in a park that's all sunshine and Santa Claus and bright lights and lollipops (and if you know where that's from, I have a special surprise for you!), and parents elected not to read the (many, many, many) warning signs about what sort of attraction this was. Naturally, their kiddies got scared, and they marched right down to City Hall to lodge a complaint. The Slantinel started running stories about how Disney was scaring little kids, and in time, the PR was so terrible that they "reimagined" the attraction with Stitch.

I fully believe that if the attraction had opened at the Studios, it would not only still be open, but still be extremely popular.

Lots of people think Disney, especially the Magic Kingdom, is a kiddie park.

So they bring their kids, have them eat too much sugary junk food, stand in too long lines so the parents can get a picture with some celebrity fur, and take them on too scary rides. Then they rush to guests relations because their kid is crying.

So the park is then stripped of scary rides, and turned into a kiddie park. Sad.

For fun, I want to start a campaign that DHS is for the elderly, get them to ride RnRC all day long, then complain at guests relations about the roughness of the coaster, which management then subsequently has to tear down.

Alien Encounter at DHS would be awesome. Good idea.

Or, you know, it could replace 'It's Tough to be a Bug' at AK. Swap the alien for spiders, nasty little bugs. Let them creep all over your legs and up your back...

ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter.
I never rode it because I was very young at the time it was open, but whenever we walked by we always heard screaming and lots of people crying when they walked out. I wanted to ride it so bad but they closed it a few years later. Now I wish I had braved it so I knew what it was like!

As much as I LOVED Alien Encounter, the last few times that I went to MK while it was still there, it was a total walk-on. I think that had more to do with it being replaced than anything else.
