Sticking with the name your grew up with?

The studios will always be "MGM", and Epcot should still be EPCOT Center. I still refer to Inoventions as "Communicores" and Mouse Gears as "The Centorium"- God I miss that store!

My peeves are:
EPCOT. It must be an acronym, all capitalised. Small case Epcot is just a nonsensical word, without meaning. To me this is the mother of all Disney related name battles.

Peoplemover. In my head it is stil the Wedway Peoplemover. But peoplemover will do.

I see where you are coming from with the acronym, but at this point it is a title and is almost a word in common language. I will always call it Epcot Center.

But then you broke your own rule when you mentioned Wedway, it's proper name is WEDway. The WED is an acronym for Walter Elias Disney.

Not Disney-related, but I still call "Progressive Field" (baseball stadium in Cleveland) Jacobs Field, because that's the name I grew up with.

OK, 'The Jake' shirt is AWESOME! I still refer to it as that as well.

Yes, EPCOT is still EPCOT Center to me. I actually like the Hollywood Studios sound better than MGM (though I still catch myself calling it MGM from time to time).

I still call some things by their old names, but it usually depends who I'm talking to.

DHS- MGM, Riverside- Dixie Landings, DTD- the marketplace (I collectively call the whole area that). It took me a while to stop referring to CRT as King Stefan's. Same with the Captain's Grille, always called it the galley.

I still call it Listen to The Land (Because I Love the song that went with it)
I still call it Conservation Station. (Not sure why they changed it to Raffikis Planet Watch.
I still call it MGM Studios

There are probabably more but that's all I can recall for now.

The one I prefer the new name for is Club Cool...I could never remember the name Ice Station Cool.:lol:

Yup, DHS, as much as I try to call it Hollywood Studios, it's always "Are we goin to MGM?" :shrug:

I'm glad it's back to the People Mover, because it was never TTA to me.


EPCOT should always be spelled EPCOT. :animwink:


I also agree that Club Cool is a much better name :wave:

I will always call it MGM. I totally confused my husband when we went down last summer. It was his first time and he kept looking for MGM.

It will always be Living with the Land.
