I dont know if this belongs here or not, but Jobs is Disney's #1 shareholder. What effects do you think that A.) he has brought to the company and B.)his departure from Apple and possibly the Disney board will do the Disney company?

Especially P&R.

Steve Jobs Resigns as Apple CEO

Given all the Disney BoD speculation, I thought this was relevant to parks discussions. It looks like Jobs will stay active on Apple's and presumably Disney's board. It could certainly have implications going forward, especially is Jobs starts cashing out or regrettably passes. I suppose this could have been part of the discussions during the alleged BoD meeting at WDW also - especially since there have been absolutely no leaks regarding that meeting.

I do not think anything of substance will occur at Disney. His interest/ownership in Disney came thru the Pixar deal and I do not think he was ever as active in Disney as he was in Apple.

Apple will be shaken pretty hard though, he was the heart of that company....twice. Interesting guy, has his bad and good points but never boring. I wish him well health. :)

This affects Apple so much more then Disney. Although Apple has to have seen this coming. The only thing I ever remember Steve Jobs saying about Disney, that didnt have to do with iTunes, iPhone, or iPad, was calling the Disney animation studio a joke towards the end of the Eisner era,

I think it really doesn't affect a thing for Disney and is more of an issue for Apple. While Jobs was a CEO, Apple didn't sponsor anything for Disney at all if I recalled correctly.

The 2nd thing is I question how involved Steve Jobs is with Disney in terms of being active despite being the biggest shareholder a first place.

The only thing Steve Jobs is going to affect Disney is by his shares of stock he has and his resignation as CEO of Apple doesn't affect that.

I know Steve's health has been iffy at times through the years and I am not shocked over Steve Jobs resigning as CEO of Apple. This is something I figured was doing to happen down the road.

:(

He was such a vibrant guy too. If you ever watch the Apple keynote speeches he did (yeah I am a Apple nerd) he had such stage presence. Wow what a sad ending.

Just goes to show all the money in the world and he would trade it all for the health of a poor man. This kind of stuff makes me feel incredibly lucky to have my health.

Going to be a sad day for many (me included) when he passes.

Well this does belong here because all of the parks sale rumors that came about because of his meeting with the board earlier this summer.
