Good Morning. I was reading Disney food blog this morning and there's a great review of the Yachtsman Steakhouse but one thing I noticed was the Fillet was served with a wine sauce and the New York Strip was served with a brandy peppercorn sauce. Now here in Scotland I prefer a whisky or brandy peppercorn with my fillet and a red wine sauce with my Sirloin ( strip ) I like my T- Bone ( porterhouse ) bare naked, and my Rib- Eye with a garlic butter sauce. Now two questions here.First, what is your favourite sauce with which steak, and secondly, could you ask for a different steak sauce instead of the one on the menu. What I mean is could I ask for the peppercorn sauce with my fillet, instead of the wine sauce.?;)

I have had the steak with the brandy peppercorn sauce at Yachtsman two years ago. It was good. I order my steaks medium rare too.

I guess if you asked they could switch it.

Also, off topic, but if you love steak, might I suggest MAGGI sauce. If you haven't had it with steak it is a game changer. It comes in very small to very large bottles. It was the secret sauce at a place by me for ages, and then a server told my parents. They ran out and bought it. It is to marinate or you can add it while it cooks or have it on the side after too. Very versatile sauce.

I checked the label and Nestle owns the product. I would think it is sold outside the U.S too. The label says Nestle and Vevey, Switzerland.

It is life-changing sauce.

Dinosaur bbq rub or salt and pepper is about all I put on a med rare steak of any variety! I have also been known to use McCormick Montreal seasoning ot Italian dressing. A brandy peppercorn sauce on a strip is awesome! Most restaurants here in the states will let you change sauces around. Crumbly blue cheese is also a big add on here.

For me A1 and HP are for scrambled eggs:D

A1 Sauce is a condiment sort of like ketchup, it is made of tomatoes, raisin paste, vinegar, corn syrup, salt dried garlic and onions orange puree and some other herbs and spices. IMHO it takes away rather than adds flavor to a steak.

A-1 is totally nothing like Maggi. Maggi is thin and dark brown in consistency. It is salty and not sweet at all, and very savory. I used to see it with Chinese characters and it is made originally in China. But it tastes nothing like Chinese sauces. It may look like soy sauce in appearance but it tastes nothing like it.
I am guessing Nestle bought the company.

A-1 doesn't do it for me. Too sweet and it is so strong it overpowers the steak. Really, it is kicked up ketchup, but that is just me.

. Agree about the A1 sauce, was a bit of a let down, used it once on steaks, but neither myself or DW were too impressed.

Just googled it. Hopefully my grocery store will carry it! We are celebrating Valentines Day tonight and having steaks!
