We stayed @ POR in Oct. 04. Very nice. Everything you should need will be right there in the main building. The only outside store I think I am aware of is the Hess stores (gas, drinks, etc.) that are all over the WDW grounds. They have just about anything and everything you need.

Hello. Although I dont know the name of the streets...instead of heading out to Goodings (at Crossroads) that main drag where all the Disney hotels are, why not head back the other way past CBR and then make a left on the road that takes you past the Disney Pop Century Resort.

Take that down and make a right at a light ( you'll know it right cause at this intersection you can only turn left or right) and go about a block or so ( you will see cows in a pasture on your left) and you will come out to Rt 192 and there will be a Publix Food store on your left and there's Logans Restaurant closer to Rt 192.

Sorry I didnt know the street names, but when we were there a few months back we found this short cut to 192 from the CBR. Nice and quick too for early morning coffee....or late night munchies!! :sohappy:

I'd hit the Publix off 192. There's a Super Wal-Mart up near the Universal Area, but that's one expensive cab ride!

If your not familiar with Publix, it's a great place to do your grocery shopping! It's not expensive and the service is usually pretty good.

You can also get groceries in the Fort Wilderness resort & campground... I can't recall the name of the store, but we have picked up a few necessities there after "Hoop-Dee-Doo" and carried them back to our resort. Not too badly priced, relatively speaking.

Also, if you use Tiffany Towncar service to get from the airport to the hotel, they will include a 30 minute grocery stop. I know there is the Magic Express service now, but it is worth the expense (about $45 for a family of 4 - one way). We are planning on using Tiffany when we arrive and Magic Express when we leave.

As mentioned, the Gift Shop at the resort will have most everything you need and you can just charge it to your room!

You could always take a cab to Wal-Mart or Publix for a much better shopping trip, if desired, but this will cost you in both extra time and money.

I stayed there last week. Lots of drinks, snacks and personal hygeine items in stock!

HAVE FUN!

Almost forgot to share my new favorite travel tip!

Pack one carryon bag with just food and snacks for the trip. Granola bars, cereal, juice boxes, pretzels, fruit, etc.

When you eat all that stuff during the week, you will have an empty bag to bring all your new souvenirs home in!

Depending on what you need and what you feel like spending, most of the DVC resorts have some kind of sundry store with them. Probably the closest to P.O. is Disney's Boardwalk. Their Screendoor Market has most grocery items except fresh vegitables. Granted all of it is at a significant mark-up but it can obviously be reached by Disney Transportation.

I can just imagine what a 12 pack of Bud Light will cost at those on-site places. It may be worth it to get a cab and go to Wal-Mart or Goodings.
Thanks all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the question I would ask you is what items do you think you’ll need from a grocery store while at PO? The food courts at both FQ and RS serve all three meals and the gift shops (the one at RS is bigger) have most snack items that you might need. All the same I just back from Old Key West and even though I didn’t buy any “groceries” (save for a few sodas) and they seemed to have a decent selection of food items.

Will you really go through a 12 pack of “Bud Light” while at Walt Disney World???
