Staying Motivated & Regaining My Health....180 Days to Go....PTR!

Last year my HB & I were blessed to be able to take an amazing anniversary trip. However, not even a month later I faced a stay in the hospital, with a serious wake-up call for me and my health! My Disney trips have always been my motivators, so I am putting this one to good use!!!!:)

Not only will I be working on my Disney Plans, but also I am determined to lose an additional 50 to 75lbs and regain some of my endurance!

So let's start with the trip plans:

Disney is a great motivator for many people!! Good for you to make goals and stick to them :) You guys will have an awesome trip!! :)

I remember a few days before our trip in March 2006, my mom had to be rushed to the hospital for what she thought was a heart attack. It wasn't (thank goodness) but they did tell her she needed to quit smoking. So Mom was going to use that week in Disney to hopefully start her journey to quit smoking. She knew she would be so busy having fun with us that she wouldn't feel the urge to smoke as much until she came home.. Well lo and behold, we left for WDW 7 years ago yesterday, and she has been smoke free ever since. Even when we came home she didn't smoke again. She knew she needed to make a change in her health if she wanted to be on this earth to enjoy more trips to WDW, so she did! :) Now she is on a diet and training to run the 5k and possibly the Princess Half with me next February. See, Disney really is such a HUGE motivator for people to do things they want to do, but never thought they would be able to :)

Can't wait to read all about your adventures!! :)

Congrats to your mom! That is amazing! I'm using the Princess 1/2 as a motivator to be healthier and lose weight. And wouldn't you know, I discovered that I actually enjoy running?!

Best wishes to you, MKGoulden, on your healthier lifestyle! Disney is a great motivator!

Thanks everyone, I am excited! I am setting a new health goal every 10 days. My first one may seem silly, but it is big one for me. I need to quit skipping meals, so my goal is to eat 3 meals a day.

It is also appropriate since I just made our ADRs yesterday. We got the following meals to look forward to:
Day 1 - Dinner - Ragland Road
Day 2 - Lunch - Tony's Town Square*
Dinner - Chef Mickey's
Day 3 - Lunch - Rose & Crown*
Dinner - Garden Grill
Day 4 - Dinner - Biergarten
Day 5 - Lunch - Crystal Palace
Dinner - 1900 Park Fare
Day 6 - Breakfast - O'Hana's
Lunch - Liberty Tree Tavern
Dinner - Narcoossees*
Day 7 - Dinner - Restaurant Marrakesh

The restaurants with stars are new to us. I am excited about Narcoossees, our ADR is right before the fireworks. I wanted Cali Grill, but they are not doing ADRs at this time due to the refurbishments. Ragland Road is the one I can not wait to go back to!!!!!!

Excellent ADRs! Ohana breakfast is one of our favorites!! We're skipping it this trip in May and then also in September. We originally were going to do Ohana breakfast, Cali Grill dinner but there was nothing open for Cali Grill :( So we're doing Kona Cafe breakfast, Ohana dinner... BUT - where you said you tried and they are not doing the ADRs at this time, maybe we will still be able to get Cali Grill. did they say whe they would be opening ADR's for that?

Tried Narcoossees for the first time last year and it was really good. The lobster was super good!! :)

Wow! Good luck with your weight loss...I can't wait to read more about how it's going. As everyone said, Disney is a great motivator. I was absolutely amazed and inspired by how many women who were in varying stages of a weight loss journey completed the Princess Half Marathon with me last month!

And excellent dining reservations, I have always wanted to try Restaurant Marrakesh, maybe next time...

They told me they would open the ADR up for Cali closer to the reopening at the end of summer.

We love Marrakesh! Fresh and light, and very flavorful.
