Staying at EPCOT area resorts

I'm one of those annoying people that get stuck on something and don't like to change and stayed at the Polynesian so many times I lost count - I really like being on the monorail.

Lately we've decided to branch out and we are staying at the Beach Club and I do like the idea of walking to EPCOT.

But here's a stupid question. Is there any way to take the monorail to and from the MK when EPCOT is closed? Is there some kind of path I'm not aware of that will get me around EPCOT to the monorail station?

That would be nice, but I've never heard of anything like it. Thanks in advance. I'm just a lazy person trying to avoid the bus.:)

I'm there in September. Maybe there's some fence we can hop :lookaroun - I'll let you know!!!

I really think any path (if you could find it and were allowed to be on it) would take much longer than getting a bus to MK. The buses at BC are great and we never had to wait long for one, especially to the MK.

If you need a monorail fix, just take an afternoon break and ride around. I like hoping on the resort monorail and getting lunch at one of the resorts.

Just to be clear, I am not looking for an unauthorized way to get over there. It was years before I realized you could walk from the Beach Club to the Studios. I just thought maybe there was a way that I was unaware of to the EPCOT monorail station.

I just hate the buses and I avoid them when I can. I won't shrivel up and die if I have to ride them, I'm just looking for a way out. Usually we rent a car but I'm not this time.

Sounds like you're a Magic Kingdom person, as we are.

The EPCOT resorts where you can walk to EPCOT and DHS have never been appealing for that reason. EPCOT fans love them.

Mabye see if you can get into Wilderness Lodge.

Also remember that the buses will stop at the Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Swan, and Dolphin resorts. I would consider a rental car. The extra $30 a day would be worth avoiding that hassle.

I didn't think you were completely serious about the hopping the fence part! However with the walking to the monorail station, I do think even if you could find a way, the walk would be lengthy. I understand what you mean about buses, I like to avoid them too. That's why BC is great, only have to take buses to 2 of the parks and downtown or water parks. You can take the boat to MGM (I suggest this, because while you *can* walk there, the walk is also lengthy.)

I don't mean to sound lazy, it's just that we do so much walking IN the parks, that for me it was worth it to take the boat to MGM (DHS, whatever haha.) The walk to Epcot is incredible. It really is 5 minutes from room to gate. You will love BC. I've never heard of anyone not enjoying their stay there. Now that we've been spoiled by staying there, I'm not sure we will stay anywhere else ever again!

That was one of the reason we won't stay in that area again. When you are trying to get to the parks and every bus that comes by is just about full you start to get angry. Took 3 bus tries before we could get to the MK.

I have to say that we did not have this experience. We had one bus (maybe two at most) that stopped additionally at the Yacht Club, that was it. We were there the 3rd week of August, so crowds were not light but also not terribly crowded. However, I have to say that I've had this problem at other resorts and it is not unique to the Beach Club.

Staying at POR, there are several bus stops and you stop at each one. You can share a bus with POFQ. Wilderness Lodge, I believe we shared a bus with Fort Wilderness several times.

At Pop, we did not share a bus. However, we had several times where we waited in line to get the 3rd (or even 4th) bus to come. I'd rather share a bus with another resort and possibly even have a seat on it, than have to stand in line only to watch 2 buses come before I can get a spot on it.

Overall, Disney transportation is great and we never bother with a rental car. We've had our car there before and barely used it, so the cost of a rental car just doesn't make sense for us. You may have to wait a little bit for a bus, but we never get too bent out of shape about it because we're on vacation and just take everything slow. One of the main reasons we pay extra to stay on property (and usually at a Deluxe resort) is because of the transportation system. Beach Club is great because you can walk to Epcot and take the boat to DHS. The variety for options is great. You will have a fantastic time!

Sure, but I'm wondering more about when WS is not open, before 11:00 AM and when I'm coming home from a night later than 9:00 at the MK.

There is a path through Epcot for those at the International Gateway to the front of the park.

Again, no, there is no path. At all. Ride the bus, they're not that bad!
