Hi! Well, the title says it all. I have tried to put off the Legoland visit since my friends tell me it is not worth it...and I wanted this to be an all Disney trip...but my daughter absolutely loves legos and this is a must for her. I won't have a car while staying at the ASM and have been looking for shuttles to the pickup location for the Legoland bus which is at iDrive 360 and can't find anything. Any suggestions? :)

We were at Legoland about 3 years ago and my kids enjoyed it to a point. Three was one ride, that my kids loved, driving these little lego cars, and since then they've been aching to go back - for just that ride. I seriously question the wisdom of driving that far, spending the $$ when I think they now age 9 will be too big for that 1 ride. Everything else at the park was ok but not great.

I told my wife, if we can't find discount tickets then we're not going - the price is too high and we can better use our limited funds for something else in Orlando.

I believe there is a rental car center at the Swan & Dolphin. It may be easier and not much more to simply have a daily rental from them. Book ahead of time though!

Yes there is a National/Alamo Car Rental @ the Dolphin. They are also @ Shades of Green and the Walt Disney World Car Care Center. The easiest would be the Dolphin. We have never rented from there, but have returned a car there once and it was extremely easy since it was handled through the valet right @ the Porte Cochere.

I would recommend renting the car from the airport when you arrive and spending your first day or two doing any outside WDW things and then returning the car to the Dolphin when you are done and heading to Epcot for that day. Another perk of having the car the first day is that you can stop at a store on the way to your resort and buy bottled water and some snack items which can be a great savings during your vacation.

LEGO Club magazine (free from LEGO - you can sign up at the LEGO website) has coupons in almost every issue for "buy an adult ticket get a child ticket free". I think there is a code on the coupon to use when ordering tickets online from the LEGOland website. I will look when I get home later.

EDIT: LEGO has an online version of the magazine here: http://catalogs.lego.com/Club/us/2015/JulyAugust/RedBrickJulyAugust2015/ - the coupon is on page 40 and the online code is 159918 (this one expires 9/30/2015 - but there are always new codes in the next issue).

The only time we left the bubble was to go to Sea World. We were asking around for a shuttle and was told to check out the public transportation system that the CMs use to get to work. The bus line is called the Lynx. Their schedule is online. It cost $12 for a family of 4 round trip (2 adults, 2 kids). We spoke with a rep at the little booth at the ticket and transportation center (there are other stops at Downtown Disney). He was very helpful. The bus driver was great, too. There was a stop at the main gate of Sea World. We just had to walk across the parking lot. I don't know where Legoland is in comparison to WDW, but it could be worth it to check it out for convenience and price.

Thanks for all the suggestions ;) sxeensweet, I searched and it would be 43 dollars each way from Disney to IDrive in a taxi, so that would be 86 dollars plus the 5 dollars for each of us to use the Legoland shuttle which comes up to 96 dollars plus the cost of tickets :grumpy: ...but if I were to rent a car it would be 60 dollars per day, I think I'd rent it for 2 days and use it to go grocery shopping, taking her to Legoland, and Universal, which I know she will want to go to at least once. Also, thank you NYwdwfan for the suggestion about the free tickets, my daughter receives the magazine and I had never noticed the coupon! I agree with all of you about doing this at the beginning of my trip. I still have 154 days to go so if I find out about any other options, I'll consider that too!
