Staying at a Disney Resort but No Parks!

Has anyone stayed at a Disney Resort but not gotten tickets for the parks? We're going on a Disney Cruise this summer and staying at a Disney resort for a few days but we're not sticking around long enough to venture into the parks.

We've made a few dinner reservations but nothing else. Has anyone else ever done this and how did you plan the time at WDW?
We did last August. There is so much to do other than going to the theme parks and its so much more less stress.

Iam sure someone asked this question before.Anyway for me after flying for 9 hours and travelling 2 hours to get to the airport, then another hour to my resort and stay for 14 nights without going to a park. There would be a welcome committee waiting when I get home, all dressed in white tunics to take me back to the asylum ( mad house )

Sounds like my regular taxi home ;)
Couldn't imagine going to Disney and not doing the parks especially as you are going to pay a huge premium to stay on property.. If you wanted to pool lounge all day surely you could get way more bang for your buck staying on either coast.Have done Just Disney and no Universal and found that mundo relaxing as having two whole weeks to do the parks makes you tour them at a far more relaxed pace.

Haha I hear ya. We are only going 11 nights this year and considered no parks, then considered universal, now bought Disney tickets. Just can't help myself. It's a long journey from the island ;)

We always stay at WDW the day before and the day after our DLC cruises. We have always ventured into the parks on both days. Last time we went to MNSSHP before and HS the day after. I will say this it is expensive buying one or two day passes. MNSSHP was great because it was only $45 each and gave us 6+hrs in the MK. Everyone was there for the parade and special shows we were there for everything else.
