Stay on site or off?

I'm going to WDW in October and am dead set on staying at ASMu. We have friends who are planning on going also and they're trying to convince me to go the cheaper way and stay at a "maingate" hotel. I have tried to convince them that staying on site is worth the extra money but they won't hear it. Any suggestions?

I would rather be off site and be able to go, than not go at all. You'll have a blast wherever you decide to stay. Do you know where your staying yet? I have friends who are going and staying off property. They have stayed at the place before and showed me pictures. Oh my gosh...it was gorgeous. There room was huge and beautiful and very Inexpensive. At least your going to Disney World. When is your trip?

"3 weeks?" Oh Tramp I'm so jealous :p That would be so wonderful to do. I am going to set up a Disney fund and save money year round so we can start doing this every year. Have you ever stayed offsite before? On a post right before this I mentioned my friends staying offsite at the timeshare, and their hotel was beautiful (and the price was great ;) ) When is your vacation?

We're going October 2-9 and it looks like we're staying at Comfortsuites Villas Maingate. As long as I get to go I don't mind saying off-site. I still get to experience the magic the is WDW!!!!

That's so true. And if you're like us, we spend very little time in our room. I'm so exhausted usually, that I want to rest. The important thing is just getting to go. And you will still have the Magic. I think a lot of it depends on the person.

Enjoy your vacation, and give us an update afterwards.

Well, I would stay on site at an all star before staying off site. But we have kids and the inconvience of being off site is not worth the upscale hotels off site. Besides we are rarely in our rooms except for naps and bedtime! The Disney theme is great through out the all stars and we love the fact that we dont have to lug around that special stuffed animal, t-shirt etc! Buy it and its sent to your room waiting for you! But just like everything else its a matter of choice. If they have kids I would stay on site, no kids, dont mind the hassle of driving, parking, etc then stay off site. But we go on other trips so when we get to Orlando its onsite the whole time..even if we aren't going to Disney every day! Just because we love the Disney magic~ just wish the still had the EE!
