Status/future of the Hyperion

I just wish Disney could bring in something or better yet tear it down for a dark ride. 🤣
I’m not really big on live entertainment at the parks.
Are you saying you don’t like that there is live entertainment in the parks? Or it’s just something you don’t particularly enjoy.

They are building 4 new rides at DCA aren’t they?

I was under the impression that DLR seemed at one point to be moving away from theater shows long term because they get stale with the APs coupled with recent union disputes.

I wonder if this is more of a temporary thing to account for lost capacity from the backlot closing for Avatar. Then once thats complete then the Hyperion goes for a 5th Avengers Campus attraction. By then they would have a decent grip on the post Secret Wars slate and should know what heroes get another ride.

I’m just saying theater shows hasn’t been intresting. Especially around the resort. I watched Aladdin years back. I did once or twice and never looked back. Maybe it just a small theatre that lacks depth. I rather watch Fantastic.

Even if you don't personally watch live entertainment, you should want it to be around.

Why? It'll spread people out and give them more options. Once live entertainment has been established, it draws people away from attractions and keeps lines shorter. It allows people to do things without waiting in line. It allows them in many cases to sit down and get out of the sun for a bit. Smaller atmospheric groups can do a lot to transform the areas they're in and give them a real, authentic sense of life.

All of which are a win for the parks and the park experience whether you are personally consuming the entertainment or not.

Yeah there's a place and audience for all of it. As an MK, for me it's the smaller acts that never get old. Like the Bootstappers, jazz band at Tianas, The Dapper Dans and the pianist at Coke Corner who hasn't been out there in a while. I think they re all a big reason why I (and most likely many others) find New Orleans Square and Main Street to be the Top 2 lands in the park. Of course in addition to both lands having the best food in the park, loads of kinetic energy, the best landscaping and wonderful atmosphere. NOS wins as it has the water and two little attractions people seem to like.

Good to hear! Noel is great!

EDIT: Didn't mean to imply Michael is not great. I just had a fun time watching Noel once and not sure I've ever actually sat there when Michael is playing
Haha! Understood. To be fair, Michael doesn’t really play ragtime. So if you’re a purist you will be disappointed. One of the reasons I was excited to see Noel before I left was to hear some legit ragtime!
