Status/future of the Hyperion

Well Disney thinks different.
I think Spy x Family or Lupin the Third would work if they absolutely needed an IP (which the Adventureland Treehouse & Awesome Planet are possible evidence of the contrary ), but neither of those nor even Dick Tracy have much to do with California anyway.

Well since DCA has been moving away from the California aspect I don’t think it matters anymore from that perspective.

If they went with an anime property they could chuck in a history of Asian immigrants to California to justify it (much like how Journey of Water is at least educational)

If Avatar is going to the Disneyland Forward area, and Mike & Sully is staying where it is, then I want this to happen...

The whole backlot area can become our own Monstropolis... DCA desperately needs a second big coaster...

The top structure you circled, Studio 12, is being used by Pandora.

Doesn't USJ use those for temporary events already?

Those buildings both have curved roofs but the one in the artwork looks like the Satu'li Canteen. That building has a roof lower to the ground. It uses a basic Quonset hut for a roof and wouldn't be the same. I think this is just a coincidence

You can see people In the artwork for scaling, that appears far too short to me.

Certainly sharing inspiration from, but this won’t have Satu’li Canteen either. Hopefully something just as good, at least.

I will say, even if Hyperion is consumed by Avatar / any other expansion (I personally don’t think it will be), there is no way DLR would go without having a dedicated theater space on property.

The Hyperion is much more permanent in structure compared to the Fantasyland Theater, so I really don’t think they’d get rid of it without some kind of proper venue replacement — even if it’s currently sitting dormant.

FWIW, Micechat said in their most recent update their sources are claiming that the Hyperion is being earmarked for future Marvel adventures. To me that means a fifth attraction for Avengers Campus.
Using the term "future Marvel adventures" does indicate to me its 100% being demo'd otherwise I would think they would actually say that. That could just mean more Marvel shows like Rogers the Musical, or I could even see a permanent Story time with Deadpool being housed there. So I wouldn't say just yet that its 100% being axed, but not looking good.

A permeant Marvel stunt show on the level of the Bourne Spectacular at USF would be so awesome if they wanted to keep the venue for shows.

As for story time with Deadpool, you wouldn't really need the Hyperion to do just that unless they want to plus it into a full on theater production.

Well given that Deadpool is a $1B property for Disney now they will add him more to the Parks beyond just that small one-off show. So I wouldn't be surprised if they did something like a full production for it (or something similar) with the entire story being acted out real time.

They're gonna need space for something X-Men eventually. I'd think that's more likely than Deadpool considering they can just add him into that as well as AID. They did announce they're adding him to the stunt show on the cruise line.

Hyperion becoming an AC extension makes sense. Depending on how Fantastic 4 does I could see that possibly being sooner rather than later. Or maybe they’ll hold out for a live action X-Men.
