Statue Guy at Epcot

I don't know how many of you have seen this guy hanging out if front of Italy, but the is the first time I've seen him:

I wasn't sure why a group of people was hanging around this statue. Until it moved!

He held that woman's hand for at least 5 minutes, with an occasional 'sigh' thrown in for good measure. Things like this guy and Lady DeVine at Animal Kingdom are what makes Disney so special, at least to me.

Ohhh...it seems like they moved the statues from France to Italy. They had their fun with my grandma! She didn't know it was a real person and she kept looking and looking till he moved. He wouldn't let go of her until she kissed him. And when she finally did kiss him she had white makeup all over her face, hehehehe :lol:

Arent those the people who jump and yell at you when you think they are a statue and mess with them?

Yes! When I was there a few years back, there was a huge group of people around one of those statues (this one was a girl). And one by one people would walk up to her to get their picture taken with her and every so often she would switch positions. After a while my younger sister and I got up enough courage to go up and the statue grabbed the hood on my sisters jacket so that my sister was stuck there. Not knowing what to do, my sister (who was about 7 or 8) slowly shimmied out of the jacket and ran away leaving the statue with her jacket. Then the statue flung the jacket over one shoulder like she was a movie star. It was a riot...the whole crowd was hysterical and to top it all off my mother has the entire thing on video! We still make fun of my sister to this day. (By the way, after a while the statue put down my sisters jacket and my sister snuck in and took it back.)

I know they have those at the Great Movie ride queue line... always a hoot. This one is slightly different... no sound... just gags and tricks

I have always wanted to see the statues, but have never seen them. Are there certain hours of the day that they are there, or are they there till closing?

Yeah, they've had them a while! They are shown in the vacation planning videos for I think the past 4 years in the Epcot WS segment! I've never seen 'em though.

I saw the statue for this first time in October, he was awesome. We saw the statues in France in July and that was also a first. I love Lady DeVine at AK, if I ever get a scanner I will scan the pictures we took of her.

I remember them from last year (in the French pavillion) there was a huge crowd gathered around and the "statue" moved as unsuspecting guests walked through the crowd, oblivious to the focal point of the crowds stare :lol:

Wow! I had never seen Lady Devine "in person", only in the pictures here. Thanks for them! I wonder if she has a Christmas "outfit" :lol:

I had seen "The Living Statues" in France, didn´t know they had moved them to Italy, maybe they cancelled some entertainment there? *shrugs*
They are good! They joked with my mom too. She adored them! :animwink:
