starting to allow myself to get excited!

While others post about packing and preparing for their trips far in advance, I am quite the opposite. I spent today recovering from a bout of the flu, lounging about. Halfway thru the day I felt I had stayed in bed about enough so I ventured into the closet to assess the clothing situation. It was then I started to get the pre-trip butterflies. It is almost time to start setting aside outfits, shopping for travel soaps, and toiletries. Last year I threw clothes into the suitcases the night before we left and never thought another thing about it. Not this year! We leave in 15 days!!!! This pre- trip excitement is a new feeling for me this early, I like it!

I leave in just 5 days. Normally I have everything packed and ready to go at all times, just in case an Impromto trip happens. But last night I realized I hadn't even started anything. I had a pile of stuff ready but not much. I got out the Disney clothes container and after about an hour of trying things on and finding things, I had all the essentials that could be packed packed. Now I am so excited I cant sleep. So tonight starts the rounds of taking a sleeping pill so I am rested for my trip...oh and work of course...lol

Like 'smk' I am a late packer too. My preliminaries just include a check list the week before of things that I must have on hand to pack and then the day before we leave I pack everything. In April, we are driving for the very first time, so I assume (6+ months ahead) that my prep time will be drastically altered.

EEEEEEEK EXCITING. I love that last week, when you can say "exactly one week from today......"

Hope you feel better soon and enjoy!
I LOVE that feeling too. I try, try, try, not to go all Debbie downer on myself and reverse that saying tho. Like while on vacation saying, one week from today and I will be back at work. :( That is the WORST!

And thank you, today I am much better! Fingers crossed I did not pass along my yucks to my husband who always takes forever to recover. Too close to vacation to start feeling bad!

We always drive. I figure if I forget something essential we can always go get it. Much easier with a car on property to run to Walmart to buy something cheaper than I can find it at a resort shop. Last year it was aloe, and I did resort to the shops at the resorts for the convenience of it all. However, this year, I am ready to go with a freshly bought supply. Now I know I won't need it!

I'm a late packer too! I have one suitcase that things get tossed into as we go (ponchos...individual fans things etc) but I don't pack the clothes and toiletries until the night before we leave! Or if we leave late in the day, than the morning of! LOL

Thant's how I do it too. We leave in 12 days, so I spent the weekend shopping for things like sunscreen and batteries that I can just toss in the checked baggage. The Friday before we leave will be a nighttime marathon on laundry and packing before our 3 AM. departure!

We need time for things to happen.
We're 17 days out. Yeahhhhh boy!!! Sorry I just saw a replay of the Public Enemy RnR Hall of fame induction ceremony and I've been saying that ever since.

ANYWAY - I'm an early packer, we've had the suitcases out for at least a week and I've got my clothes ready to go. To me this is part of the trip. Strange but true. Everything I do FOR The trip extends my vacation.

Safe travels to you @smk catch you on the flipside.

We are headed down in December, and I've already got the pre-trip tingles! We have 4 small children so I begin our packing at least a week beforehand, just to be sure we have everything we need. I would love to just toss stuff in a bag and go! Have a fantastic trip!
