Starring Rolls or somewhere else for QS lunch?

It is looking like we we be spending a half day in HS. We will be there during lunch time. I was interested in going to Starring Rolls Cafe because the desserts have such a good rap, but I never heard anything (good nor bad) about their sandwiches or meals. I can barely even find a menu. Has anyone ever ventured there for a QS lunch? How is it, any good?

If not Starring Rolls, where should we eat lunch in DHS - if anywhere at all?

If nothing really catched my eye, we could also eat prior to entering the park and eat at our resort, Pop Century.

Thanks in advance.

I've only had sweets from Starring Rolls but if you decide on a different QS location, I'd just go towards Sunset Ranch Market on Sunset Boulevard. Lots of QS options in that area, from burgers to ribs to chicken to turkey legs.

We also were very surprised by ABC Commissary on our last trip. They added some new salads which were fresh and pretty tasty!

I've also never tried the sandwiches at Starring Rolls, only sweets. But I will way last week at Studios I tried Min and Bill's Dockside Diner. They had some very good pretzel dogs!

Bill & Min's Dockside Diner has a great hotdog on a pretzel bun. If you're on the DDP, a QS meal comes with chips, a soft drinks AND a shake. They also added some new menu items there recently, although I can't recall what they are.

I have always been a huge fan of their turkey sandwich. I am now a vegetarian and I never cheat anywhere else, but I somehow always manage to convince someone else to order one of these so that I can take a bite. :hungry:

Thanks everyone I think we will at least plan on eating in DHS and not the resort. - just wondering though - what kind of sandwiches did you get? Every site just states ham or turkey with no other description.

If it doesn't upset your plans too much, I'd eat at the Pop Century food court over any QS at DHS. I think TS at DHS is under-rated. But QC is pretty lousy. Good for snacks, bad for meals.

I just recently ate at Starring Rolls on my past trip and found it to be quite delicious! The only sandwich options are turkey and ham, but they're more along the lines of "fancy sandwiches" instead of meat and cheese on multigrain.

This was the turkey sandwich. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of it; the bread was fluffy, the meat was high quality and whatever sauce they put on it was tangy but not overpowering. Overall I'd recommend Starring Rolls, at least over the other QS options at Hollywood Studios (I've never eaten at Pop Century's food court, so I couldn't tell you which is better). I hope this was helpful!
