Star Wars Weekends 2014

Did you see him take any standby's. Trying to gauge my possibility for success on Sunday since I can't get to the park till 9 or 10. I'm assuming most if the people had Pixar or Cheers stuff as opposed to SW.

He took a handful from what I saw but not many. Maybe 4 or 5'people each session? And yes, lots are eager to see him because of things other than Star Wars.

Mark Hamill will not be signing autographs.

He will be appearing in the motorcade as well as his own show "a conversation with Mark Hamill" which I think is it 2 PM-ish.

Sorry for the double post...Show is at 3pm in Premiere Theater. FP+ is available but they are all gone for all 3 days so the only way to get one would be to snag one if it gets dropped by someone else. There will be a standby line just like all the shows at Premiere Theater for SWW. Should you plan on attending without a FP I would get there VERY early to secure your spot in line.

How early do you think to line up for standby? I'm debating hitting the Studios (and AK later, maybe) on Friday, which I know is probably insane as Friday's I believe tend to be a bit busier for the SWW. I can't go on Saturday or Sunday so Friday it is. I'm considering attempting standby for it. Maybe ... lol.

And what about staking out a spot for the parade? I'm sure it will be even more popular than normal, which already gets crowded.

Quick Question: (I apologize in advance if this has already been answered) Are the schedules of the Citizens of Hollywood affected by the events of Star Wars Weekends?
Their schedule isn't necessarily affected but they are prohibited from doing a lot of things. They can't bring out any of their vehicles, so no skits involving them, they can't really cross over onto Hollywood Boulevard, and some of them are sent out to other areas of the park. So their schedule is the same but what they're able to do is limited severely, no big skits or shows or anything like that.

Standby for Mark Hamill's show?

I don't know. However I fully expect people to head there as soon as drop happens.

I would recommend at the very least immediately after motorcade ends which would be around noon but truthfully we are planning for people to head there at rope drop and wait the 7 hours until show time. Bring something to keep you busy in line and stake out a spot if you really want one.

Thanks.

I was kind of figuring as much.

Yeah, that was what I was figuring. I don't know if it's THAT important for me to see. LOL

Well I was talking with some of the people that work over there. The cast responsible for loading the theater. One gentleman I talked to was expecting people to be lining up starting at 7:30.

I'll let you know what my experiences are on Friday… But I'm expecting Saturday to be a bit worse.

I totally believe people would line up at 7:30 for that. It'd be probably the only thing I would personally even think about lining up early for, but not that early. I can't imagine just waiting around hours and hours for a show, even if it does have Mark Hamill. I also expect many camped out for hours for the parade to. I'm not sure which one I'd rather wait for.

I totally missed the FP window for the show, saw your posts like an hour afterwards. Only show I'd even think of FPing too.

As of yesterday around 6pm, Peevy's Concoctions (think that's the name) also had the Stormtrooper mugs. You could get any of the frozen slushes (Coke, Blue Raspberry, Cherry, Lemonade, etc.) in a cup they put inside the mug for $9.99 or so.

Peevy's is located near Hollywood and Vine and the Dockside Diner on Echo Lake. Basically if you are on Hllywd Blvd and facing the hat, go straight then veer off to that left side street. Peevy's is on the right.

I did the Hollywood & Vine SW dinner last week. Wish I had not. Character interaction was terrible. I kept trying to talk to them and got no response, no interaction except to sign my book and take a picture (some I had to get to come back to sign because they rushed away after a picture). The exceptions were Minnie and Donald. Donald took a little prompting to get a response, but Minnie was engaging us before i even said a word. Chip and Dale do not sign. You get a pre written white piece of paper with their autographs, take the pictures and are then shooed away basically.

The whole thing was very assembly line-ish to me. The restaurant was also very loud even though they were nowhere near capacity (our ADR was for 8pm). The food left a lot to be desired as well. A lot of it was cold, and mostly spicy foods. I felt like we wasted our time and money, and very few times have I ever felt that way in all of my many WDW trips.

Wow. Just back from SWW and that fireworks show - Symphony in the Stars (?) was epic! Way more than I expected. Even if you are not a big Star Wars fan, you better go or you will miss out on a special night.

I really enjoyed it as well. Nice to get a chance to see a FW show there again after all these years.

I just got in as well. The breakfast was a lot of fun -yes somewhat overpriced but I would (will) do it again if I get the chance. The Feel the Force Premium Package was a mixed bag, there were WAY too many people in the area for the motorcade but the fireworks portion was great. Some say too close to stage but as I expected the fireworks were way up in the air so...... The only true fail, and it was EPIC was the relocation of Darth's Mall back to the soundstage. WAY too small and crowded. I actually bought much less because I just wanted to get out.

I have been to at least one Star Wars Weekend since it's inception and must say this was one of the best.

Anyone know what LE Vinylmations were left in Darth's Mall at close yesterday (if any at all)? Wasn't able to get there this past weekend and was hoping to get the Rancor Set if still available? Thanks for the help!

I think the Rancor Set was still there this past Saturday, but that could have changed 30 seconds after I left the building.
