this is the original song, it was replaced with Jedi Rocks in the updated verson. Sorry, I couldn't find the lyrics to that one.

I bought a special boxed CD set of Star Wars CDs about 10 years ago. There were 4 CDs in the set and it included alot of previously unreleased material. Lapti Nek is on those CDs. I am not sure if they still sell this set, but you may want to try a used CD store. Good luck, and may the Force be with you (Sorry, I couldn't resist...)

There are two different songs, depending on whether you are looking at the original film or the special edition where they put a totally new song in.

According to Lucas, he had wanted something more along those lines originally, but with the technology at the time, wouldn't have been able to make it look good, so he did it for the Special Edition.

i assume when you say updated version, that this means the DVD version? we used this song for star wars weekends, months before the dvds were released?

No, he means the 97/98 "Special" editions, which are what the recent DVD release is. That was when Lucas changed the music. The original music for the scene was a far cooler baroque recital type que, but since Lucas went insane in the early '90s he can't see this.

Yep, the design for Hooter was probably "inspired" by Max Rebo.

ROTFL  :sohappy:

I liked all three movies better before Lucas "improved" them, although I never was a fan of the Ewoks song at the end of RotJ and was very happy when they replaced it in the new DVDs. Please take the rest of the "improvements" and throw them in the garbage.
