Interesting that they would choose to leave DLP out of the mix?

It's been suggested online before but waiting until the 20th Anniversary (2012) of that resort might be better. Then they can have one "new" attraction in each park (Ratatouille in WDSPP and Star Tours 2, the more affordable addition in DLP).

I haven't heard one way or the other. No doubt they will get Star Tours 2 at some point maybe even at the same time. I do know the big e-ticket for DLP is going to be the Ratatouille e-ticket and that may get announced at D23 as well.

I wish they would bring that ride to DHS!

Jesus, Tokyo! Can you just stop?! Let us have a great ride to brag about for once. You have TDS, marvel at that for a while!

:fork:

hey you should be thankful. It's Team Disney Anahiem and Oriental Land Company (owners of TDL) who are footing the bill for the budget of this attraction. The orlando team and even Rasolu wanted no part in it but like the Fantasyland project it's being forced down there throats anyway.

The first part of your statement was pretty much debunked here at WDWmagic. I do think the idea was floated by TDO and it lasted about 5 minutes. Yet the rumor persists. Thanks Al. Enjoy that new parking lot.

As for FL being "forced" down their throats. While ignoring the exaggeration of your statement, we still have to give credit where credit is due. Yes, The Sherrif.

Just curious, but was the rumor concerning the updated Star Tours having multiple beginings, middle's, and endings ever proven legitimate?

I would assume this update may include a new exterior design and line queue. When I was in WDW this past June I was thinking it would be cool if the loading area where you watch the preflight film could have large LCD monitors on the walls made to look like windows that would show video/footage of departing and arriving spacecraft to give it the feel of a spaceport.

Great idea. :)

Hopefully we will get a better idea during the D23 Expo.

Well, I think updating it will be great. It is in dire need of it. There is so much new technology out there, ST looks so dated, it's almost embarrasing if you compare it to The Simpsons Ride or Spiderman. I'm such a huge SW fan, can't wait to see the details, and ofcourse the new ride.

WDWmagic isn't the end all be all on authority. Miceage, Laughingplace, and WDW1974 all confirmed the report as have I with some independent sources.

The credit goes to George Lucas for authorizing this & Tony Baxter for his persistance in getting it built.

It was long sense debunked here. Those same sources, and you, claimed no major additions to the MK for at least 5 years. And you also said that you heard the Skyway station wasn't going to be changed. I remember these things con. You accuse others of doing exactly what you do. Namely picking up info off blogs and forums and posting it here as "insider info".

George Lucas is as demanding as anyone except JKR perhaps. That is why the TDO rumor of trying to go cheap on ST2, even if someone at TDO suggested it, would have been null and void about as soon as it was spoken. Tempest in a teapot.

Concerning Skyway: I believe what I said was I doubt anything was going to happen to it.

Concerning MK: The earliest anything of substance can open there is at least three years away.

Concerning Star Tours: The person who said Al Lutz was wrong was WDIinsider who was later banned by Steve personally.

"So you see what I told you was right....from a certain point of view." - Ben Kenobi

As for me....:D:D:D

Actually you said you "heard" it or something to that effect.

Concerning MK: The earliest anything of substance can open there is at least three years away.

3 years is not 5 years. I think you will definitely see something finished by the 40th, which is two years.

Concerning Star Tours: The person who said Al Lutz was wrong was WDIinsider who was later banned by Steve personally.

He may have said it but so did another longtime insider here.

Just wanted to put that on the record. I'm not arguing, I just think you shouln't claim to have a source on the inside if you don't.

D23 Expo is soon and we will know who was right.

You know now that I think about it isn't the 501st that SW fan group that dresses up as stormtroopers and goes to events? If so they aren't represenitives of Lucas or Disney...

The 501st is a fan group that, yes, appear at various functions. They do alot of charity related appearances as well as appearances that are officially sanctioned by Lucasfilm. For example, when Lucas was the Grand Marshall in the Tournament if Roses parade a few years back, the parade featured several SW floats, the 501st, and Lucas himself as Grand Marshall. I also believe they have appeared at SW Celebrations as well.
