just visited the launch bay, very impressive, good job Disney. The darth vador meet was really cool. The props are very impressive. Still sad to see animation studio go away but this is an asset to DHS.

Did you happen to notice the lightsabers available in the launch bay cargo store? I'm visiting in March and REALLY want to come home with a black series Luke lightsaber! These are out of stock everywhere but I've seen them in some vids of the new launch bay cargo store.

Yes
Haven't been there since Magic of Disney Animation closed, and I probably won't be able to visit for a while. I'm still upset about the closing, and I don't think anything will change that, but I can't have a legit opinion until I finally visit.

For me it is a giant store with video games and a couple of meet and greets. All of the outfits are for sale and are not actual movie props. They could have put the actual movie props in a lot of places rather than put replicas in. I guess some people want to pay thousands of dollars for those costumes though haha.

I just went in December. I was not very impressed, and I am both a Star Wars fan and a Disney fan. It seems like it's a character meet and greet place with very little repeat ability for me. Darth Vader does talk which is cool, but once I saw the characters, there wasn't much else to do. Probably the best part was trading with the Jawas. Bring a cheap little item, and they will trade with you. I spent more time at the Magic of Animation, drawing, than I did at Launch Bay. Sorry.

What sort of things do they offer in trade?

I think a lot of it was stuff other guests traded. One time I got a lanyard from the Kennedy Space Center, another time it was a Buzz Lightyear roller toy, the the last time I traded with two of them right in a row, and one gave me the head of a Droid (from the make your own droid station inside the Star Tours gift shop) and his friend gave me the body. Still missing the feet though. :D

Removing the Animation attraction was an abominable decision. Animation built the Walt Disney Company, not George Lucas' freaking Wookiees. The art form that Walt and his crew perfected deserves an attraction celebrating it. And to think it was removed for a stupid meet and greet. Makes me sick.

There are barely any props left from the movies, all of the actual force awakens props are there but with previous 6 movies, george lucas either kept everything or auctioned it all off. this is why i am happy disney have taken over, they will actually keep everything and start displaying things for the fans.

there is alot from the prequels at skywalker ranch but its not open to the public. and its controlled by lucas.
