There's no way you have your AP for all of 2019 if you renewed in Oct.
If you renewed Oct 17th 2018 and Star Wars Land happened to open Oct 16th 2018 then you would be able to use the AP for 1 day and then Disney would probably have you have to renew at the new AP price because of Star Wars.
I think what they are trying to prevent is an AP person locking in at a lower price and then going to Disney multiple times (more so than normal) because of Star Wars. They realize that people are going to using their APa much more than normal especially die hard Star Wars fans.
I didn't renew in October.
But I'll repeat what I said which is true: I already have bought my AP which is good through all of 2019. WDW can't raise ticket price on me for SWL.
I already have October and December resort reservations. WDW can't raise room rates above the base rates I'm already locked in for.
If other people follow suit, then when October of 2019 comes around and WDW wants to jack up prices in anticipation of SWL, it'll be too late because almost everyone going will already have bought tickets and have resort reservations.
