Star Wars games for the Wii?

I wonder 2 things:
1. Will this game use the euphoria engine like the 360 and ps3 or will it be a basic port of the ps2 version with slightly better visuals.
2. Will they do actual motion control or just the "waggle" control like lego starwars and so many other wii titles.

I think its good they are doing this but I worry because its not a new title for the wii it will be a basic port of the ps2 with wii control just slapped over top. I hope not, but Lucas does have a history of trying to make a fast buck off of starwars. And this game is not being done by lucas arts, but by krome studios.

I personally think it will involve true motion control, at least with the exclusive Duel Mode.

As for Euphoria, very little is known about it. I think it might. The article suggests it.

I sure hope so, but I will believe it when I see it. I think that if its not true motion control its a big blow to the wii for the long term.

What do you mean?

Yahoo reported that the Wii version is getting a lot of attention because of the fact that the game promises the most realistic lightsaber movements ever.
The developer (krone studios) came out and said it
ign said:
According to the producer, the game recognizes five different motion directions from each of the controls, each applied to different moves in the game
A different article the developer said the wii just wasnt powerful enough to do true motion control for that game. The wii version does get 5 extra levels, I think, that the 360 and ps3 will not. Well at least we have a release date, Sept 16th.

They just said yesterday that the first level you get to play as Vader! Thats going to be awesome, his main power is a crazy force choke. You start off as Vader, then when you find your apprentice you switch to him for the rest of the game.

The Wii version will be one of the best looking Wii games to date. For obvious reasons it doesnt look near as good or have the euphoria/DMM like the 360 or ps3 but thats why they added the extra levels which is cool.

Yes, I love the fact you play as Vader. I knew they were going to let you play as him (by either a level or unlockable character).

I find it interesting that you play Vader in order to find the Secret Apprentice on Kashyyyk.

The 27 characters you can play in Duel Mode from all aspects of the Star Wars Univers (The Force Unleashed, Prequels & Sequels, and Expanded Universe) make it very cool in the Wii version.

I'm glad we finally got a date after it kept being delayed.

I wonder if on the specials airing on Spike TV during the Star Wars movies will finally reveal the Secret Apprentice's name.

Can't wait for this game! :D :sohappy: :D

It looks like we wont get a name until the game is released. I hope you can unlock Vader so you can play the whole game with him, that would rock.

This story better be as good as they keep telling us. Lucas has sworn it into star wars cannon. They say its going to really tie the 2 trilogy's together. I am so syched up for this game! Lucas dont let me down!

I think it should be good.

It looks like **Possible Spoiler Warning** you'll be battling a Battle Damaged Darth Vader. And there will be multiple endings (some that would change the outcome of the Star Wars universe).

On Game Trailers TV and the Behind-the-Scenes segment on Spike they mentioned the extra levels in the Jedi Temple on the Wii version and the duel mode. It looked cool.

I just wish they didn't keep pushing it back.

Yea they have the "good ending/Bad ending" for this game. I bet it will be like the EP-III game, if you play as obi-wan and beat anikan it ends as normal but if you play as anikan and beat obi-wan you take over the galaxy.

Yeah they're cool.

Lego already came out with a set that reveals a little more to the plot and the action figures they are coming out with (like redeemed Apprentice) do as well.

I will be playing Unleashed on the 360 to start with. Wii might be a Christmas or Tax rebate present....If I can find one.

Here's info on another game being made especially for the Wii from the Star Wars Insider newsletter:

Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels, in development by Krome Studios exclusively for the Wii, delivers fun-filled Lightsaber battles for the entire family while it immerses players in the characters, locations, and epic duels from the all-new Star Wars feature film. Built from the ground-up for the Wii, Lightsaber Duels features an intuitive motion-controlled combat system that puts the lightsaber weapon in your hand for non-stop fun.

Fight the most memorable duels from The Clone Wars feature film.
Wield your Wii Remote like a Lightsaber and experience first-hand the unique weapon of the Jedi knights with intuitive controls, so no matter what your gaming experience you can become a Lightsaber master.

Play with your friends as your favorite Clone Wars hero or villain -- from familiar characters like Anakin Skywalker and General Grievous to new faces like Ahsoka Tano and Asajj Ventress -- each with a unique fighting style and set of skills.

Exploit your interactive surroundings to defeat your opponent: slice down pillars and Force throw them against your foe.

Duel your way through significant Clone Wars locations, such as Tatooine and Teth

Sounds cool. :) It will come out for the Holidays 2008.
