I just got my Nintendo Wii (finally :D).

I love the system. And I can totally see the Wii Remote used in a lightsaber Star Wars game.

I was wondering if anyone has heard about new Star Wars games coming to the Wii anytime soon?

I know there's LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga coming in the Fall. I've also heard of Star Wars: Force Unleased, but as far as I know, it's not coming out on the Wii.

Anyone hear any recent news or rumors?

As of now Lego star wars is it. I would guess if lucas arts is going to do something sometime soon (the next 8-12 months) we will find out at the game developers conference at the end of the month. My thought is lucas arts is really wanting to use their new euphoria engine. I think the Wii is just not powerfull enough to run it, just like the unreal 3 engine. Indiana jones and the force unleashed all use euphoria and as of now the Wii cant run it. Maybe they are working to make a version of euphoria that runs on the Wii. So my guess is we wont see any star wars Wii games for at least a year or more.

As for the Euphoria engine, I don't really know about the specs of that.

I do know that even if that euphoria thing required powerful systems, they are still releasing a version of Force Unleashed on the PS2 as well as either the Nintendo DS or PSP. So why not the Wii?

I remember reading an article about the Force Unleased, and they did ask whether or not there would be a Wii version. The developers said there might be one, but whether or not it would be the light saber game everyone was hoping for was unclear.

That's sad... the Wii just seems to have been made to be a light saber.

Totally. That is one of the first things I said when I first saw the Wii. Lucas Arts has to be looking into it. They would be foolish not to.

There have been hints to a Star Wars lightsaber game in development for the Wii. It was very briefly hit on at E3 I believe but very few details have leaked out.

In regards to Force Unleashed....I can not believe that they are not doing a PC version. I just might to have to throw down $500 on a PS3 because that game looks simply awesome.

Well Its all going to come down to cash. Lucas loves to make lots of it. The Wii is kind of the odd man out, the PSP uses the same basic chip set as the PS2 so the port should be easy. 360 and Ps3 use euphoria and the Wii cant. The DS is being developed I believe by a different studio. The Wii would take a whole new build of the game because of the Wiimote and cant do euphoria (you would need a different/new engine) so at this point I dont think they wanted to stretch themselves that thin. Thats just my take on it from what I have read.

Lucas Arts can't leave players of the Nintendo Wii out. The Wii is selling out all other systems, so obviously there are a huge amount of people who have that system. It would be foolish for Lucas Arts to only concentrate on this euphoria system and ignore the Wii completely.

Last numbers I heard Wii has outsold both x-box 360 and PS3 combined so you are right. There is simply no way Lucasarts can ignore numbers like that.

I dont think they will ignore the wii but like most of the studios they didnt know if the wii would sell or if it was just a fad. EA came out and said this already. I know the system is selling great but its software attach rate isnt all that great. The wii only has 2 games to sell a million copies that are not first party games. The studios recognize this, its all about the biggest bang for your buck. You might say "what about the ps3 its not moving software either." Well sony waves more money at developers than nintendo does. (plus a 120 million install base for the ps2 doesnt hurt either) This will be a big X-mas for nintendo, if they start to move a lot software and shed the party system image developers will start to take more notice. I dont think lucas wants to make a lightsaber mario party type game.

Is the Star Wars Lego game the complete saga coming to the Wii because I only saw information on it for Nintendo DS? And will it be exactly the same as the original two games? My little brother would love for it to be new levels and game play.

What do you mean by "first party games?"

I think it will be a big Christmas for Nintendo.

It always seemed to me that, for some reason, Nintendo always lacked in the Star Wars game department. They had great Star Wars games, but it seemed like sometimes they would always make more Star Wars games for other systems.

I hope, since the Wii offers a very unique gaming style, they will come out with more Star Wars games, especially lightsaber games.

I don't think Lucas Arts would think the Wii is/was a fad. I would safely bet that they are in development of a cool Star Wars game for the Wii, most likely using the Wii Remote as a lightsaber, and they are probably just working everything out before they release info about it.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is coming out for all next generation platforms (the Wii, Xbox 360, and the Playstation 3) as well as the Nintendo DS.

This game will feature levels from all six Star Wars films. It will feature all the characters from both games, as well as new characters, such as Zam Wessell.

They will also come out with new levels, such as the Chase Through Coruscant scene, and new mini-game levels, like more of the Bounty Hunter levels.

Also, all levels will be updated with brand new features.:)

Also, I was looking for info about Lego Star Wars on the main Star Wars site, and did you guys see they're coming out with LEGO Indiana Jones?:D :sohappy: Awesome!

First party games are the ones that are made by nintendo or microsoft game studios or sony. 3rd party games are companies like konami, rockstar, namco, capcom, bethesda... I dont think lucas thinks its a fad but I dont think a starwars game was top priority from them or nintendo. Nintendo should have been all over lucas arts to make a cool starwars game for the Wii. If nintendo would have fronted some money for them to make an exlusive game I bet lucas would have been all over it. If you want a game from a top company you have to go get it. Look at the 360, microsoft paid bioware to develope Mass Effect for just xbox, this is one of the highest anticipated RPGs coming out. Thats what nintendo needed to do.

Are they really doing a LEGO Batman? Awesome! I'll bet they can continue going down the line of LEGO movie-based products, like Spider-Man and Harry Potter.

I can't see LEGO Sponge Bob ever becoming a game. It wouldn't be exciting like LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Indiana Jones.

They should come out with LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean!

As much as I love the lego games the only problem I have is it might be hard to keep it fresh. I think they have 3 movie franchises that fit the "lego" concept great. So they should stick with them and the sequals.

Star Wars: Force Unleashed will indeed be on the Wii!

The Force unleashes on the Wii

Next-gen Star Wars action game will be hitting the Wii.

By YVG Staff
LucasArts announced Tuesday that its next-generation action adventure, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, will be arriving on the Nintendo Wii platform, in addition to its already revealed PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.
Ever since the Wii's unusual motion-sensing controllers were unveiled, gamers and Star Wars fans around the globe have been anticipating using the Wii-mote to control a lightsaber. Their wish will be fulfilled next year when the game is scheduled to release.
LucasArts also mentioned the Nunchuk controller will allow players to enact their character's Force powers.
The Wii version of the game will feature an exclusive Duel Mode that pits players in head-to-head battles for the title of ultimate Jedi master.
The Force Unleashed implements new technologies that will be debuted in the game: Digital Molecular Matter by Pixelux and Euphoria by NaturalMotion Ltd. Set in the span of time between Episode III and IV, the player will take on the role of Darth Vader's apprentice.

Awesome!

We get the lightsaber game we've all been waiting for! Plus exclusive features! Yes!!!!!:sohappy: :D :sohappy: :D :sohappy:
