I think people labeled it as a failure because that section of the park is the least crowded and the ride doesn't always have the longest lines- this past weekend GE was a ghost town in the middle of the day, Falcon maybe hit 45 minutes when most other rides were near that or over it. Splash. Pirates, Pan, Space, Big Thunder, Storybook Land and Alice all had equal to or greater wait times than the new fancy attraction.

I think they also call it a failure because it's such an open land with not much to do except eat and shop.

I'm waiting to reserve judgement until I see RotR when it opens and hopefully if/when they add additional characters/experiences (like what was advertised). I wouldn't call this an immersive land like advertised, at least not yet.

i think anither problem in Anaheim is that the land is literally hidden. guests are sometimes asking around where the land is. a major walking path passes both entrance if the land and you can miss it. the other entrance is hidden way back into the wooden area and eating area of an eatery that most guests dont realize has been expanded with a new path. Disney really needs to consider adding a gateway sign like every other land has.

So you’re saying everyone in wdw is in line for the Star Wars ride?

3 days before Labor Day? Not exactly “driving property wide attendance” are we?

Hint: that’s the goal of everything they build.

😂😂

Hold up...

You’re saying it’s a “secret”? They can’t “find it?”?

Oh this is good...this one might be Hall Of Fame

a secret no but unless you are familiar with the park, the area is built in was for most of the history of the park an area that most guests never accessed.
its also built of a pathway that mist tourist didnt access.
even before the addition thunder trail was never really busy unless you were a smoker or you accidentally found yourself walking thru it as you wander around fantasyland.
the entrance via critter country still looks an entrance for the restrooms or eatery with no visible sign that there is a long path into the land.

Even a couple CM i know in customer service have said that guests regularly need help understanding how to get back there.
ao nonita not a secret but non locals nit familar with the semi hidden expansion ate having problem familiarizing themselves with the idea that somehow theynfound 14 acres to build on and how they can get in
not everyone knows every inch of the park or even walk around with a map

The guide maps and app hasn’t tipped anyone off, huh?

Nor the press...

I’ll give you a mulligan on this one. The crowd just isn’t there.

I just quoted times.

You're the one making up what I'm saying and laughing at your own inexplicable joke which you find so hilarious.

BTW, Kathleen Kennedy is still on the payroll. 😂😂😂

I’m not making up anything...your appearance is not at all subtle.

You’re slick goal is to show falcon has the highest wait? It should...right?

And what did you think of a the land when you went? Want to hear what I thought? I liked it.

And KK is riding high...she’s just gonna be doing some Hail, Mary’s when “Return of the Skywalker” premiers.

Let’s see what they got? I’ll buy you some popcorn.

We visited Batuu for the first time today, from 3pm to 7:30pm. It is incredible. I forgot that we were in Hollywood Studios sometimes. We went to Oga’s Cantina and did MFSR once. Posted wait was 105 and actual wait was 75 mins to Hondo. We were out exactly after 105 mins. The line started past Oga’s Cantina, but it moved pretty quickly.

Spoilers ahead.

The queue is nicely themed, but it’s so static. You go through this workshop for quite a while, where there is an engine being worked on, but there is no movement. No droids, no screens, nothing. There is only a voice and some lights flicker every now and then. In the Star Tours queue you have large screens and several moving droids, things to listen to. I really missed that. The sounds of the ships is very cool (we stood behind the MF when they were trying to start it up, and the sound was so loud! The floor trembled, it was impressive), but no music or movements makes the queue boring. They don’t have to play the movie scores, but for instance a radio playing in the workshop with a local radio station would be fun.

The pre-show and walking through the Falcon is fantastic. My wife liked the ride, but I didn’t so much. It was alright. It was hard to see what was going on and not much looked recognizable to me. We were gunners, which was easy. Just kept hitting the button to shoot. In Star Tours the scenes show large vistas of mountains or whatever, and you always know where you’re heading, but this ride was chaotic. The thing with the train is way too convoluted. They need to simplify it and bring in more recognizable elements from the Star Wars universe. It felt like a random video game.

Oga’s Cantina was awesome. We had standing places at the bar (I don’t understand why there weren’t barstools; there was space) and we had so much fun watching DJ Rex and seeing the bartenders sing along.

There were many PhotoPass people, which was great. We got some nice photos. They are everywhere and the lines were short. We ate at Docking Bay 7, which had no line and easy to find a table. Beautiful theming inside, as everywhere.

The land looks AMAZING. I love all the details. I want to go back and spend a few more hours looking around. The theming of the inside of the Den of Antiquities is incredible; so many things on the walls. I had seen so many videos and pictures before going, but I was blown away by the theming. The land was also bigger than I thought. But again, it’s so static and can use some movement. There should be moving droids near the parked ships, some local music playing in the bazaar, etc.

We had a great time and I look forward to going back. Saw some kids using the app to scan codes and that seemed fun. There is a lot to do in the land and I can’t wait for Rise of the Resistance.

ToT, TSM, and RnRC were all walkons. Starting around 8:30, we did TSM, RnRC, and ToT twice.

It was a great day; I'm so glad we were here.

Except SWGE ate a bunch of my money.

This won't be the norm. Guests who did the early morning rush were likely spent by mid afternoon. Plus locals doing prep at home. F&W seemed to be doing very well also. It will definitely take a week or two to find some equilibrium. IMO.

Lines at the other parks are in line with what they have been the Thursday before Labor Day last several years.

But we agreed that it was too early to make a judgment, did we not?
Correct...

I was there this time last year and I would say it seems “slightly” less crowded now.

But impending stormaggedon aside...where in the hell are the Star Wars “nuts”??

Been busy all summer? In a bunker in the “great” economy?

My questions really aren’t about the land...it’s something else.

I’ll see what people think though...fair.

(Truth be told...I want Disney and universal to start outjockeying each other with promos...it’s good for me)

It's been widely reported that the Falcon ride with all four turntables running can get about 1,650 riders per hour at max capacity. That's not terribly high, when other E Tickets like Pirates can do 2,850 riders per hour, and many Omnimovers average about 2,100 per hour.
Isn’t it a little higher than that, due to the ADA pods? We were loaded into one (no wheelchair in our party), so I know they’re using them.
