New Fresh Baked video on the construction:

The construction really does look almost complete, at least the top and rockwork portion. The one thing that really bothers me is the section from Toontown. You can literally see the unfinished rockwork portion from the land (starts at 4:10). I mean, seriously??? All that money and effort and you won't enclose the area that can been seen from another land? I'm hoping that will change but according to David that's the way its suppose to be. Very disappointing. Outside of that though, wow!

Them leaving the Toontown view like that tells me that their are some plans for that area... or they re just waiting to fix the issue when Toontown goes down for its MMRR refurbishments.

and still no word of when reservations can be booked. i have to keep an eye out for my nephew which is a die hard Star Wars fan and wants to book a trip to come. He feels that coming during the reservation time period might be a more enjoyable experience than after.

Such an underrated console.

Totally. I was only like 6 but I knew what I had. What was that built in game where you went walking around the kingdom for carrots etc?

EDIT: just checked out a YouTube video. My memory deceived me... it wasn’t a built in game. I was referring to Kings Quest. How could I forget Golden Axe?!

Oh didn't you hear? They already opened and closed the reservation system last tuesday at 2am. It was booked up by 2:02am for the first three months. The servers were crashing for most people.

While I do believe this will get addressed at some point in the future, the only way to see that view is peering over the bow of Donald's Boat. It's a really obscure place to see it and given the number of people that go on Donald's Boat and that actively happen to look in that direction, very few people will see it. I think that's why Disney isn't freaking out over it. Not that I'm making excuses, I think sightlines are very important, but it's not in a blaringly obvious high-traffic spot.

I feel the same with the arch that he keeps freaking out over. The view is at the last turn of the river and lasts for like 10 seconds and again, you need to be actively looking for it from the back of the Mark Twain, not to mention he's using his maximum zoom to see it. In that case, I think the trees will eventually grow high enough to cover it.

This is the reverse angle. He's standing at the red arrow, the two trees he's zooming between is the green arrows, and they can't really plant any trees because of the tunnel road at the purple arrow. The only thing they can do is maybe put some 2D hills there like they do on the North side of the land. Or if eventually they build something in the expansion space it could block.

Oh I didn’t know that view was only from the boat. I thought it was from ground level near Goofys / Donald’s boat.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Some 2D Hills would be the most feasible solution. Unless... unless is it possible they remove the last dead end and give us another path to SWL and have some other solution in mind?

Yes, forming an opinion based on limited and incomplete information always works out.
my counter point to your snarky and sarcastic remark is there is a reason movies have movie trailers so you can see if you want to spend your hard earned money to see the film in theatres. they show you very little and its up to you to form an opinion if you would like to see it and you have to base it on the little info they show you. so catch me outside how bout dat?

You're shifting your goal posts from merchandise breaking total 100% immersion to movie trailers creating "want to see" interest? Again, just wait to see the land itself before forming an opinion on the land. Not an opinion on wanting to see the land. Movie trailers are often deceptive to begin with, no one should form an opinion on a movie (or theme park) based on a commercial for the movie (or theme park).

Ugh. Dragon's Lair / Space Ace. Do any of you remember those games? The cartoon narrative unfolds on the screen and at certain times in the game something on the screen will flash and you have to move your joystick or press a button at just the right time or you will die (or in this case take on damage or crash into something).

I knew this wasn't going to be a flight simulator but was hoping as others had said that it would at least have some sort of limited free flight, but I don't think that's what is happening here. When it's time to turn left the left side of the stick will flash and you need to point it left. When it's time to fire a weapon it will flash and you fire it. When it's time to repair the ship a button will flash and you press it.

This actually solves the "I wanna be the pilot" issue because every role equally has to press flashing buttons. While I'm sure it will be fun and the whole team vs. individual aspect they talk about will be interesting to see, it's just not at the level I was hoping. I suppose they really needed to make sure everyone and not just experienced gamers can enjoy the attraction.

I see your point, but I don't think it will be as rudimentary as those old Bluth games. Just the seamlessness of the real-time rendering will make a huge difference in experience. (My hope is that the pilots will have some degree of control throughout, but when the indicator light comes on, you'd better pull up, or turn right, else bad things happen. We'll know for sure when the time comes.)

I think it's safe to say the control will fall somewhere between Dragon's Lair and a full NASA shuttle simulator. :)
