Maybe I don’t see what you see, but the movements seem pretty fluid to me, more so than Redd or the Auctioneer. Humans aren’t perfect in their movements, so AA humanoids shouldn’t be either.

Also one thing to note we’re only seeing part of the scene, so it might be longer or different in the actual attraction on opening day.
I think you’re misunderstanding me. I’m referring to the performance, not the technical sophistication of the figure. The figure is indeed incredibly fluid and lifelike, but the acting is like an A-1000 of a high school theatre student.

I won't bet on that, as I just posted Coke has been producing this type of bottle for at least a decade for Christmas. So its not hard to just change the printing on the bottle at the local bottler for Disney. So I expect it'll continue to be used long after the honeymoon phase.

It's not hard, but it still costs money to print those special labels. As minimal as it might relatively be, it's something that can be stopped and a cost saving for operations.

Initial land entertainment, specialty items for sale, and anything that can cut costs will be cut/reduced once the honeymoon is over. Now how long that honeymoon is sustained is certainly up for debate, and rightfully so SWL will have a long one. Depends on the moods of the execs in charge and how returns are doing for the buck.

If round coke bottles with client custom labels were cost effective, they'd be in the parks already.

A label is a label. There’s no massive economies of scale for printing labels. And they’re obviously already making the round bottles as it’s been noted they use them internationally and for special events. The cap is the only real custom piece.

If Coke charges a 2% higher cost per ounce than a regular bottle than you can bet Disney will be increasing their markup by at least that much. People will pay for it and Disney will make their profit and Coke will make theirs and people can continue to be cynical on message boards. But trust me, two of the largest corporations in the world will know how to cover costs and maintain profits on a 13oz bottle of soda.

Ok, I guess I see what you’re talking about. I guess I didn’t see it at first because I interact with people that act and talk the same way in public in my daily life. Working in high tech I deal with all sorts of people from different countries and different cultures, they don’t all act the same like your average American. And a lot are taught to be rigid and “wooden”, as you call it, for business in school . So I guess I’m just used to it.

You don’t think that Coca-Cola cut a deal with Disney to produce these bottles for SW:GE? We’re talking about two of the largest companies in the world. You don’t think Disney knows how to negotiate a deal to make sure costs are kept low, especially for an item that will be in more than one park? Come on.... Again we’re talking about something that real isn’t all that custom. And it’s the reason why they likely went with this style because Coke already produces it and looks like something from SW, so costs are kept low from the start.

They just get some college interns to paint over the Coke Christmas balls overstock.

The problem is, humans tend to move in shaper motions at various speeds. We don’t naturally move like conductors of an orchestra. It’s great that the newer animatronics have more axels of motion but if it’s not equipped to handle more lifelike patterns of movement, they‘ll never become eerily convincing, which I think should be the goal.

My guess is it at most costs a penny or two more per can for a large volume order like Disney’s to do this “custom” label and cap.

It’s a shame Disney puts more value into their characters they created than the actual ones that people fell in love with Star Wars over. I am sure the 10 people who know who this character is will be over the moon though.

Han Solo, Chewbacca, or Luke would’ve been awesome as an AA but I’m glad instead we get a character from a Star Wars spinoff cartoon.

The Indiana Jones ride should’ve used a random character from the comics instead of Indiana Jones, because the “universe” of a property is all people care about 🤨
You raise some good points, but I just can’t agree with you completely as I preferred Star Tours captained by Rex over C-3PO, and that’s coming from someone who loves C-3PO.

No this is the definition of not cool but corporate schilling. So they go out of their way to not have visa logos but the edge of space has coca cola and coke related products with their name in a alien language but still in their same colors. I bet ya Rey is gonna be drinking a coke in the next movie.

There has been no actual confirmation on that. That was a rumor that some site put out, likely MC as they also said no Coke products as well, and everyone just ran with it.

This is an immersive land that lives in the real world in the great US of A where capitalism still runs the world. And where little Johnny still wants a soda, and little Johnny's dad Steve still wants to pay with his Visa, MasterCard, or AmericanExpress. There is no way they can completely keep out the real world, it just won't happen, we've all tried to tell you this before. So they do what they have to do, mask is so it still like the real thing from the real world but will fit in the land. So there will be Visa logos with SW symbols on them there just like there will be POS systems dress up to look like some SW cash register with a credit card reader that also takes ApplePay.

Sorry to disappoint, it won't be the immersive land off on another planet that you've built up in your head.

When I was at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I tried to pay for the UK themed experience with USA currency. And they took it!

Somehow, I enjoyed our time there anyway.

Salacious Crumb is the new shoulder Banshee.

There is a pretty wide selection of the stuffed line pictured behind Brad.

The creature shop (which Salacious comes from) has more proper feature toys, like a Porg that is actually proportioned, moves / makes noise. Something I think they kind of missed with The Last Jedi release is that they kind of went with watered down stuffies instead of a higher quality Ferbie like item. Which could have certainly been a much hotter Christmas item than it was.

Next you can buy legacy lightsabers that will come in a special case with character iconography.

Only the truly perverse will hate on SW:GE because they didn't go full blown SW and keep out the real world. This is not cosplay land where everyone including little Johnny and his family have to be in-character or they can't go. Its a land within a Disney Park where just a couple yards away you go down a fiberglass flume in a fiberglass log and where you buy a Churro with the flavor of the month sugar substance and everywhere people are wearing Mickey ears. The real world will leak in, and the real world will be part of the land. Its just facts that some will have to accept.

FUNNY LINE - If anyone here has the inside scoop with "Smugglers Run" please tell me if you agree...
One of the missions you go on, you are chasing a train (like the one in "Solo") to retrieve coaxium. Along the way, Hondo is talking to you as you fly..."Let's go to Lightspeed!" - the console flashes and you pull back the lever. So, as you are chasing the train, it is guarded by 4-5 TIE Fighters (they have what appears to be 2 engines - think of a TIE Bomber) - they start shooting at you, and Hondo says "Shoot those TIE Fighters...come on, they aren't going to shoot themselves!" - LOL. Too funny.

Now you might remember that scene Disney keeps showing in the Falcon previews (see attached) where you are falling - that;s right after you bump the train and go after it for the coaxium.
