My brother-in-law worked at a low-grade theme park in San Antonio in high school, he refuses to go theme parks, he hates them. I married his sister, for our 2nd anniversary, took her to the Grand Canyon and Disneyland. She had never been to a Disney park. I was legit worried she wasn't going to like Disneyland because of the bad history her brother had, but tried to tell her Disneyland wasn't a mere theme park, like Six Flags or that crap pile her brother worked at. Planned it as well as I could. Show up an hour before rope drop. First attraction was Peter Pan's Flight because the line for that ride gets nuts. We go over London and then Neverland and I hear her audibly cry. We get off the ride and go straight to Dumbo, as that line also gets nuts...and we're in line and I turn to her and she has tears running down her face. I ask her what's wrong. She tells me, "It really is the happiest place on Earth." She was crying from joy.

Why does the quote have me? I never said that.

Here's a not-too-far-fetched scenario for SWGE totally consistent with the company's past decisions:
SWGE is so popular, Disney decides they need to increase capacity quickly.
... and cheaply.
They use the adjacent FL territory to quickly create Watto's Wonder World a deliberately-cheap, cruddy looking traveling carnival run by the original Watto's son. Everything looks like garbage (but it's deliberate, so that's okay, right?) and the carny rides include an X-WIng/Tie Fighter spinner and a small coaster called Womp Rats (actually a relocated Goofy's Sky School). Also included would be a dozen games of "skill" ,a porg/ewok shooting gallery, and Dex's Diner, which has become a galaxy-spanning fast-food chain.

You got that wrong Phase 2 of Star Wars lands in Disneyland will actually be two new lands.

Frozen is no longer in the table and the old motor boat cruise area will be turned into Hoth. Autopia cars will get a makeover and themed to t47 airapeeders. The landscape will be white snow with more white snow.
Matterhorn will be rethemed as well, artwork attached.

The second land will be themed to Naboo
Where guests can board a submarine near the edges of tomorrowland. Your captain Jar Jar Binks will guide you through the waters lake Paonga. Midway through your voyage you will disembark and get dropped off in Otoh Gunga where you will be able too interact and visit the Gungans as they dance and sing folk music.

Every time I look at WDW's version, I TRY and see it as the same size as DL's, but it's just so drastically teenier in comparison, I can't even.

My heart just aches for those Floridians.

Yeah, when you get a complete aerial view of all of DHS you can see that their SWL is only the size of some kid's toys left outside next to the land!

It's just sad, isn't it?

Maybe it's because everyone in Florida is ancient and tiny, so they are wanting the land to be very small to make everyone feel cozy and comfy in the new land. Let's face it, if the little, ancients came out to DL's Star Wars Land, they'd be completely overwhelmed with the sheer size and scope of the land.

I definitely think the internet has a huge part in the current Disney AP culture that takes pictures in front of purple walls and need to buy every new piece of merchandise. It is their existence which has allowed pathetic changes like Mission Breakout and Pixar Pier to be a success.

Cameras and limited edition merchandise existed before the internet. If the internet hadn't been invented, Disney would have found some other way to exploit their consumers.

St. Augustine is pretty awesome. If you've got the coin, do not go to Orlando without making a day trip up there. One of America's great historical experiences.

Even if WDW's SW:GE is smaller initially, don't they have a LOT of room for expansion while Disneyland is packed to the brim?
They both have modest expansion pads nearby that may not necessarily be used in the same way. :)

Actually, excuse me. I misspoke. To be clear, Disneyland has room to quadruple the size of their land while WDW’s is practically shrinking by the minute, partially due to the effect of Muppet Vision 3D expanding by the second. I believe the Muppet Vision building has ballooned to somewhere around 0.5 square miles. Is Florida’s Star Wars even as large as Aladdin’s Oasis? I honestly can’t tell.
