I think that's just the order they paint them. They start with the base coat which is often the most saturated color. Then they add the aging or variation layers on top of that. Those top layers only partially cover the base layer to get the final appearance. That's why it starts out a bit garish-looking and then the final product appears toned down.

I don't know about you, but I'm feeling giddy about dampness. Whee!!!
And a story that shouldn't have but involves aliens if half the success it should have been! Here's my follow-up quote to George... "A boring story is still a boring story, made even worse by bad acting."
It actually started with Big Thunder in 1979.
I would say they look darker and more grayish than before and decidedly less Bryce Canyon reddish/orange than Big Thunder and the new rock work along BT Trail. Could be the midday Southern California sun or camera exposure settings at work though.

No, it actually started with PotC and the Carribean village addition to Adventureland at WDW in 1973
While that's true I think Big Thunder took distressed to a whole new level that had never been seen before at a Disney park. Caribbean Plaza at WDW looks like a fancy suburban shopping mall in comparison.
No mention of Disney suits showing up at his door to confiscate his camera equipment though...thats a good thing.Mint Crocodile re-surfaces, if only to say he won't be posting as often.

Personally I love the perfect / hyper-realistic look that WDI achieves nowadays. Its something I do think Walt would like in his pursuit of perfection.
So are conspiracy theories.NDAs are a thing that exist.
True, but Disney is not anyone's buddy. They care about money, and themselves, and what they're legally obligated to care about, probably in that order, first and foremost. So are conspiracy theories.
Agreed. But I feel like they'd use their legal power to shut people down completely, rather than having them tip-toe around the "issue" and lie to their fans about what's been going on. But rest assured, its probably someone's job at Disney to keep their eye on MC and all his future postings.True, but Disney is not anyone's buddy. Not saying there's a conspiracy. Just saying if they wanted something quiet it would be quiet; they're certainly a big enough entity to make it happen.
